La Marine Restaurant

My wife and stumbled upon this restaurant on the Sunday of the Bastille Day weekend, showing up just before 2 p.m. Despite the hour, we were welcomed warmly. And the service continued in that way throughout the meal. Our linen cloth covered table was right by an...open window, with a pleasant view of the river and its promenade. The decor is typically French blend of modern imposed on an old structure. Not chic, airy. (Click on the hotel restaurant's website for photos. Both of us ordered the Menu des Templiers the cheaper of the two set menus on offer accompanied by a carafe of a very pleasant white vin du pays. My wife ordered the soupe de melon, which was tasty, and I ordered the bruschetta au Jambon cru, which was accompanied by chèvre cheese and a honey apple concoction. It worked very well. For our main course, we ordered the Filet de Dorade poêlée, petit fenouil au jus de persil. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the choice of vegetable accompaniments worked well. We split a desert (croustillant aux pommes et raisins , which hit the perfect pitch between tartness and sweetness. We rounded off the meal with perfectly prepared espressos, and then went off to explore the village by foot. We give this restaurant an excellent rating because I cannot imagine an establishment that tries harder than this one to provide an all round great dining experience for such a modest price. Worth going out of your way for if, like we were, you find yourself travelling the back roads from Le Havre to Paris.

On a motorcycle tour through France we booked for an overnight stay in this hotel. We arrived at 15:30 Check-in was from 15:00, the hotel was closed and in darkness, we spent the next 15 minutes checking where in the right... hotel. I went to a store and asked the lady behind the counter if she could help, she called the owner he finally opened. our room was in 3. Stock, we had a nice view over the river, the hotel is tired, but clean and comfortable. This is a typical old French hotel, it has sad character that the restaurant was closed on a Friday night so that it did not experience, we asked for food in the city they said there are pizzas around the corner, not very French. In the morning we came to breakfast, the breakfast room was empty except a small old lady we had alarm bells at this point) the breakfast buffet was very bad to say that the least everything was wrapped in cling film and looked bad, the coffee was from a machine and only look warm the sting in the **** was the 15€ a head fee totally over price was no wonder that the breakfast room was empty. Would I stay here again, yes, but would eat breakfast in one of the local cafes

I borrowed the title from another reviewer, as it perfectly describes the restaurant! We went here as a family of 4 and booked in advance (apparently this is something you should not be sure if you were sitting if you did not... this despite the fact that there are only 5 groups and PLENTY of empty tables). The empty tables should have been a sign, but the laws had eaten here before and had a great experience and had even made a large group booking for the new year; this time was sad the complete opposite. Only 3 employees present: 1 young waiter who knew 70% what he was doing; 1 younger waiter who had no indication of what he was doing and was trained by the other young boy; and 1 woman we think would have been the manager. The service was extremely slow, the floor was often ordered by every staff for a long time (you could see other groups looking for service), food was not so ordered (including the fillet steak that was not fillet steak), mistakes were made again and again and, all in all, was not a pleasant food experience. A meal was deducted from the final price, but the prices are certainly not worth money. We wouldn't eat here again!

In the tourism industry, I can give my honest advice that this is not a restaurant to spend your good money. A small town with many international tourists, but it is a pity that this restaurant can offer them and dare... for sale lunch menus at 38euros, the over boiled cold fish with its frozen green vegetables, cheap supermarket cut bread with fois gras cream, or industrial botteled cream tartelettes. In addition, you have to wait 1 hour between each court, accidentally with an excuse for any service that they are only 2 in the kitchen through the waitress. The reactivity of this bad width was exclusively on the shoulders of the management that was not present. Instead of lunch in a restaurant in Le Havre or Rouen, it will be cheaper, service better and you will save 20 euros per person for the same menu.
