"a great place on a nice, warm day to sit outside behind the church of Santiago and eat some tapas or portions (racciones). there is also an inside/downstairs part, less attractive, but good for rainy days or big summer heat."

We visited this for lunch based on Trip Advisor reviews. Tucked away at one end of the old city, the location was out of the main thoroughfare by a church; very peaceful. The owner was friendly providing good service and spoke good English and importantly on a hot day, the beer was cold. Menu is chosen by scanning a QR code and the owner announced several specials. The hummus (3 types pepper and walnut, aubergine and traditional) was very good, but the meal went down from there. The Extremadura Crumb the owner recommend was very dry and pretty tasteless. The pork feather with mango salsa was ok, but the pork was very salty. The whole meal wasn't good value for money either..So Wouldn't go back I am afraid

Sitting in the sunny square adjacent ancient Cathedral, eating drinking is a delight. Just off plaza mayor prices drop 100/:. BUSY so get there for open. Tapas choices are great, we had huge green salad then a meat ball dishes, together. Total cost with water, wines 21e double. Good selection of wine by the glass.

This little gem is incredibly good. Owner is extremely friendly and very easy to communicate with in English. They have an English menu as well. We tried several small dishes and basically loved them all. My personal recommendation would most certainly be the succulent grilled octopus.

This place is off the main tourist trail and a little gem. The food was great the service excellent with the owner speaking good English and very keen to explain the dishes and clearly proud of his food. Highly recommended, much better that the tourist traps in the square
