La Matilde - Reservar una mesa

We found the restaurant in Michelin guideline and we thought it is worth to visit but it was not.....We ordered only our main courses and left the rest to them. The problem is that they are trying to serve as Michelin way but the taste of the meals are quite far away. Although the team is really friendly and trying to help you a lot, at the end of the day you only remember the taste and feelings of the meals which are poor here. And the worse thing is that we paid almost equal price (55 euro/person) to a Michelin star restaurant to such average foods. It is really pity to choose that restaurant... A final note : we are traveling from San Sebastián and we are able to compare the food money value since we have found 2 times Michelin star restaurants/ or advised ones.

Whenever we go to Zaragoza, we like to have dinner in La Matilde. Never before we went during Summer, when they offer less possibilities à la carte. We opted for a menu of 32.50€/person which includes aperitive, starter, fish dish, meat dish and dessert. All dishes are very well prepared, with first class basic material, and the service is impeccable. The wine list is impressive : we had no problem in having a wine according to our taste recommended to us, a DO Calatayud. The only problem was the presence of a group of 4 Dutch people at a table nearby : they were talking very loudly, and the way they were treating the waiter and giving comments in general (my native tongue is Dutch as well, so I could understand everything) was very unrespectful.

We tried to order ala carte but the waiter decided on his own to bring us a number of other courses. After the third course we realized what was happening. While the food was good it does not measure up to the world famous restaurants in New York, Paris, Barcelona etc. The pairing of the sauces to the dishes seemed oddly matched. The food was good but far from great and at these prices we would rather choose our own dishes. (Spanish is our native language so there was no misunderstanding)

Se come bien aunque un poquito elvado el precio; la cocina es sencilla pero efectiva y se le ha dado mucho bombo pese a ser un restaurante normalito. La comida esta muy salada

Fue una buena elección la selección de entrantes propuesta por ellos. Buena relación calidad precio.
