We first tried tapas from this bar at La Feria de la Vendimia in the Plaza de Toros, and were impressed. So we decided to try tapas from the bar itself. We chose to sit outside (there are about 5/6 tables outside the bar) as there was a large group of people waiting to sit inside, so we presumed inside was full. The waiter gave us the menu and I realised it was only media raciones or raciones on the menu. I asked the waiter if we could have tapas and he replied that we could only have tapas inside. (I find a media racion for 2 people, is sometimes too much of the one kind of food). So we ordered 2 media raciones and the waiter then did say we could have a tapa to try something. After our order was taken, I went to look inside the bar there were quite a few free tables inside, I don't know why the waiter did not suggest we sit inside. I find it strange that you can get tapas inside, but not outside. The food itself was very good, and a good size serving for a media racion. We previously tried the guacamole croquets, which was a novel idea. The tapa we chose to try was the pastel de calabacin (courgette) with langoustines this was accompanied with a little mound of creamy garlic dip which was a nice accompaniment. Again a good sized tapa. I would definitely go back, but I would sit inside to take advantage of the tapas to sample a lot more dishes.

Very well located, with a fantastic price/quality/quantity ratio. Very well priced, good variety of local wines such as Sherry, Amontillado, Palo Cortado, Pedro Ximenez. Must try dishes include cocido croquettes, crujientes variados (puff pastry filled with Brie cheese, shrimps, etc. in the deserts section all of them are good; however, the puff pastry with dulce de leche and almonds are great. The client experience reaches the next level when Cristina, always smiling, provides you with adequate advice. It is a go-to place when visiting Puerto de Santa Maria.

We went to La Micaela after reading the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We had previously had excellent tapas at Bespoke and wondered if it would be as good. It was. We had beef stew croquettes, deep fried cod and pork cheeks. All dishes were excellent but the slow cooked pork in sherry was amazing. Our waiter was extremely welcoming and spoke excellent English. We each had a chocolate fondant with orange sorbet for dessert it might have been the best dessert I have ever had. They don’t serve coffee so we had a sherry instead when in Rome!

The food was ok, but the service was terrible. Specially the waitress who served us. They charge 2€ for filtered water a bit much, I'd understand if it was a closed bottle. We felt judge by how we looked and for not wanting to order the most expensive dishes the waitress kept telling us we should order.
