I went to La Milpa for a pickup order. My family likes to eat there. I arrived exactly at 8:15pm and the food was bagged already. It was supposed to be done at 8:13pm. The place looks clean, the shelves look good. The parking lot looked fine. The indoor lighting could be better. Signage for pickup orders might help. I ordered a lamb torta. The bread was absolutely wet and it wasn't dressed correctly: no onion, avocado or pepper. The sandwich was much too wet and not enjoyable at all. I love this restaurant, they have the most authentic tacos. I've been coming here for over 5 years since moving to the chesterfield area. I have never had a bad experience l. I usually call ahead to place my order and it's always ready when I arrive. They also have a store inside the restaurant that sells authentic Mexican snacks and fresh produce and meat. I always get 3 tacos carne asada, lengua and carnitas). They give you so much food that I usually turn it into 2 meals. Each taco comes with 2 delicious corn tortillas. If you want the best and most authentic Mexican food this is the place for you.
This place is legit Mexican food. They also have a nice little store inside to pick up things for recipes etc.i hadn't been here before so I asked the lovely gentleman what to get and he provided me some recommendations and overall amazing service. I ordered tacos and they were amazing. The salsas were good and the cheese was fresh. My husband also loved his food. They also have a farm where they source their food locally which u always love. We will definitely be back!
Pretty close to authentic Mexican food. Very much on the pricey side. $4.50 per taco seems excessive. At lunch time you can expect a wait as most items are cooked to order. My attached tamal photo shows the almost, not quite level of the food. The tamal was under-steamed so the masa was soft and almost runny. Taste was on-point, though. Been here several times. Probably will come back again. But, if I 'm honest, it makes me homesick for my Mexico home and local dishes.

We've been here 15+ times. It's amazing Mexican food, especially the burritos. They are California/TexMex handheld style and packed. The salsa is made there and so good! Plus they are a market. Top marks all around!
La milpa is one of my favorite restaurants in all of rva the food is stupendous and the price is perfect especially for the portions you get imo 10/10

Authentic Mexican food, great tacos, quality ingredients and great taste. Al Pastor was crispy and flavorful.
