La Ola - Reservar una mesa

After a fantastic lunch in La Rioja we preferred a light diner back in our hotel area. We set out for Itxas Bide because of the positive review but it was closed. So we ended up in La Ola. Less busy than expected, we immediately got a table. The steak we ordered well done arrived **** red and I doubted its freshness. The waitress did not speak English so we did not even bother to fix it. The goat cheese salad on the other side of the table drowned in berry sauce. Chocolate dessert could not be done any harm, but we had enough and skipped coffee. Although less than €50 (of which €13 for a nice Txakoli wine), it felt much worse than paying over €250 for a fantastic lunch we had in Bilbao.

We had a very enjoyable dinner on the terrace overlooking the sea as the sun went down and darkness came in. We went for the main menu with beef carpaccio and morcilla to share, along with bread and then I had the escalope, which was delicious, followed by a small chocolate souffle and ice cream, which was very enjoyable, as was the wine. Friendly and helpful service helped make this an enjoyable evening.

Local con una terraza muy amplia, tanto cubierta como descubierta, con vistas a la playa de Ereaga y su paseo. Cercana al Puerto Viejo de Algorta. Cafés correctos a un precio razonable. Café marca Cándelas: rico y acompañado de pasta correspondiente, de agradecer.

Despite a short wait for a table and only two wait staff working, it was worth it for the fantastic food, varied menu and excellent view. Quite an experience, nice staff, who deserve credit for how quickly they worked. Amazing salmon, really nice oreo cake.

We had a great night and the food and service was great. I also wish to thank the staff at La Ola so much for helping me set up the most important night ever, you're awesome.
