La Paillote - Reservar una mesa

This was our "go to" meal out as it on the edge of our camp site. However it is much more than the camp snack bar. It's a proper restaurant bar that happens to be on the seafront and the campsite. Child size pizzas and moules as well as a childs menu. All meals decent size and seemed less expensive than in the main centre. Get there early for the full specials menu. Quick service means children aren't waiting. If you like rum, many available and all drinks in the bar half price 6.30-7.30 Mon Wed fri. (pay at the bar rather than on the meal)

The restaurant is really welcoming and it has a relaxed atmosphere. Based on the reviews here I thought the food would be better than it was. My wife and son had the steak which was good but over cooked, I had the burger which was OK but nothing to write home about youngest son had the pizza, slightly under cooked and he didn't enjoy it but he can be fussy. No desert menu to speak of apart from ice cream. All in all a ok meal, I wouldnt rush back, but for something quick and close to the campsite it's OK

The Paillote bistro/bar/takeaway on the edge of the Baie D'Aunis campsite (see seperate review) site is extremely good value and the English/French owners, Jo and Michael, are always cheerful, as are their staff. Happy hour on Mon/Wed/Fri early evening. Moules Frites is a must and their Pizzas are brilliant. The spotless kitchens are on full show and their clean-up routine is impressive (obviously). If you're at La Bel or La Baie D'Aunis, it's the place to go.

We went here 3 times during our 2 week stay. Had two children under 3 with us and the team were really nice and friendly towards both us and the kids.Oven fired pizza with Blue cheese was amazing and the daily specials were also great. Simple food done really well!Would highly recommend a visit.

We mostly visited this bar for the cheap drinks on their regular happy hour in Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's however on the occasion we did eat there it was rather nice .
