Quite disappointed comparing this restaurant next to a round about, railways, main road Milano-Bellinzona and HIGHWAY all together.Few meters from Bissone public beach...Nice welcoming and kindness but complete loss of energy compared to so many great places around. Al Faro, Cantinone, Soave 10, Moscotte, the new restaurant up the Monte Generoso (by special small train) to reach the last masterpiece Fiora di Pietra of great intern' Mario Botta, and Palace Café on the fantastic square created in front of the LAC (Lugano Arte è Cultura). In Lugano, Locarno and Ascona, and in the incredible old Italian city of Bellinzona restaurants are led with enthusiam and great energy. La Palma is more old...
The location is perfect and the views over the Lake of Lugano magnificent. So, if possible try to get a table outside, from where you can fully enjoy that.The menu offers a wide variety of mostly Italian dishes with, of course, a large selection of pasta and pizza. And as soon as your ordered dishes arrive (and they do arrive soon), you notice that they're very tasty - so another thing to enjoy at "La Palma". The third convincing aspect here is the friendly service. And not to forget that your four-legged friend, if ever, is allowed and even welcome to accompany you.After your stay at "La Palma" be sure to stroll along the beach front of Bissone.
lovely place, good food and in the summer gorgeous view of the lake. The food is excellent, thoough at times when very crowded service is very slow. We are regulars, and there were times last summer that we waited for one hour for our meal. It is better to make a reservation, especially in the summer. Excellent choice of food, menu with specials according to the different seasons. Pizze are delicious, very thin crust, but also a good choices of pasta and grilled fish and meat. Desserts are delicious. Prices a bit high, but in this area, everything has a high price.
My wife and I ate there at the begin of July at 6:30 pm. This was not yet high season and most people obviously eat later, therefore we were almost alone. The place is nicely located at the lake shore. Service was friendly and quick and the food was overall of good quality. Prices are not cheap, but still reasonable, considering the environment and the restaurant itself. The only negative point: the little complimentary buns served with the meal were outdated. I like to eat seafood, particularly "Luccioperca" in this gorgeous restaurant on the lake shore. But all is delicious, from meat to pasta, from risotti to desserts. They also have a broad coiche of very good wines. You can find whatever you like, here! Also the service is very professional. Prices are a little high but portions are generally abundant. Anyway, it's the Swiss standard.
We went there for a romantic dinner. Parking space might be a problem.The food was excellent as was the wine and not to forget the grappa barrique.The service was very friendly and helpful. However the restaurant has its price and we visited smaller grottos in the area that might be considered a little more romantic.
They cook every kind of dishes, such as meat, risotto or pasta..but I use to eat fish, especially some special starters with many different kinds of fish and shellfish.The strength lies, in my opinion, in its gorgeous view on the lake, I really suggest it during the summer.
