La Patrona is a staple of Mexican food offerings in Sherwood Park. The reviews were so impressive that we elected to drive out from Edmonton to see what all of the excitement was for.The place was packed! So clearly you need to make a reservation. We were lucky that they made space for us at the bar. The space itself is tight and cozy. It makes for a very lively vibe.Our host at the bar was wonderful and extremely helpful. He was pretty chill and had a great sense of humor.The food was very generous and the flavors were great. Presentation was super on the dishes. La Patrona has become one of the hot spots of Mexican dining in Sherwood Park over the years. The place is small and I highly recommend booking a reservation especially on Tuesdays.The food is excellent and quite authentic but this is a busy place that is more like a cantina than a place for a nice dinner for two.Since it's so busy the service can be a touch hit or miss at times but we are patient people and understand that running a busy and popular restaurant is no easy task. Don't let this keep you from going as the food is well worth the wait.

The food was wonderful! Everything we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. The waitress wasn 't the greatest. She got annoyed because I wasn 't ready to order when she came to take our order. When she came back I asked what Mexican Rice was and she responded It 's Mexican Rice! . I wasn 't impressed. The whole night she looked annoyed UNTIL she brought the bill and decided to put a fake smile on. We will go back because of the food not because of the service. Hopefully we get a nicer waitress next time ;

We tried the enchiladas and beef, vegan, shrimp, and chicken tacos. The shrimp taco is by far, their best taco. The peach cocktail was good as well, sweet and peachy. The service was good, some waiting occurred though despite no full house. Other tacos were yummy but I have had better versions at other Hispanic restaurants.Vegetarian options: The veggie taco was very simple in it's vegetable components. We had a great experience the 4 of us. The thing we noticed the most was the SANDWICHES. Because it was our FIRST TIME we were not explained about them, and we did inform them it was our first time. Bottom line if it’s your first time and you don’t want a so called Mexican sandwich then be careful what you ask for… Atmosphere was pleasant! Service was great.

What a great Mexican restaurant in Sherwood Park. We had tacos (shrimp and beef). The flavors were delicious. Their refried beans were black beans yum! Our server was fun and friendly. She gave me some birthday churros for my birthday so nice! Will go again to check out other items on the menu.

The food is good but I was immediately put off by the 90 minute time limit on the reservation. I understand it's a small place but it makes it feel like they just want you in and out which puts a bit of a damper on having a leisurely dining experience. Overall food and service were

Really good. The amount of food you get for the price is just crazy. Usually my husband and I get our own entrees but we were able to split the special of 9 tacos and both left incredibly full. Decor warm life throughout creates a great vibe along side the warm host servers. Food drink is consistently delicious prepared in good time. Price is fair worth the quality, taste, and portions. You will not leave here dissatisfied.

Exquisite dining attentively served by welcoming and hospitable staff. We felt appreciated as patrons. Though very busy which is in itself an excellent recommendation we were never made to feel rushed. Thumbs up and five stars!
