I visited this restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday, and my Mexican friends had told me it was the best taqueria in Adelaide—and they were right! The food was delicious; we ordered from the set menu and loved everything. Mario provided us with excellent service, always smiling and ensuring everything was perfect. For my friend's birthday, they even gave her a shot of their top tequila, and the margaritas were fantastic. We will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend trying the set menu so you can sample everything!
A visit to Port Adelaide isn't complete without a stop at La Popular Taqueria. Eating here feels like enjoying a meal in someone's home—it truly feels like a family-run business. The tacos are simply delicious, and the tortillas are unlike any I've had before, likely because they are made correctly. They're soft, slightly fluffy, and have a fantastic flavor. We sampled all the fillings, and each one was outstanding. Don’t miss the frijoles (beans) served with homemade chips; they pair perfectly with the locally brewed beer.
This restaurant serves some of the best tacos I've ever had. As soon as you walk in, you feel immersed in a very authentic Mexican atmosphere. The menu is relatively small, but the options available are more than enough. We tried everything except the zucchini tacos, and my favorites were definitely the beef steak, fish, and chicken tacos. The prices are on the higher side, so don’t expect a budget-friendly meal. However, given the quality of the food, you’ll definitely leave satisfied.
Very delicious tacos, guacamole and cornchips, pork crackling and salsa, margarita. Portions seem small, but a shared entree and a couple of tacos is a comfortable meal. The range of taco fillings is vast. A little too noisy inside to talk with a small group, but one on one is fine. Great atmosphere, and terrific staff. La Popular Taqueria is up there as one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in Adelaide. When we visited they where busy and understaffed and still provided excellent service and fantastic quality food that was full of flavour. (so good that I ate it before taking pictures Thank you for having us. keep up the good work.
Amazing Taco place that makes there own tacos in-house. You probably can’t get closer to more original Mexican food in Adelaide than this. Yummy tacos and a great selection of Mescal and Tequila. Definitely a place to highly recommend. Checkout there share menu for two it has a great selection of dishes.
I’m usually not a fan of Mexican restaurants in Australia but La Popular changed my opinion, my mind and my soul! It was delicious coupled with fantastic service and more-ish margaritas! It was busy so I suggest booking a table, however, the team did whatever they could to seat us. Loved it!
A bit pricey for portion size hence the 4 stars but they are quality. I really loved the fish taco (vegetarian version substituted fish for crumbed cauliflower) very delicious. Only open for dinner so be prepared to book a table to dine in. Will definitely be back. Reserva una mesa ahora
