I wish I had checked the reviews before going, as my experience was disappointing. Although we were told there would be a 10-minute wait, it ended up taking closer to 30 minutes, and there weren’t many customers inside. We spent $15.15 on two beef tacos, rice, beans, and fries. The beef tacos reminded me of Taco Bell rather than anything special. While the rice was decent, the beans were excessively salty, and the fries were undercooked. The only greeting we received when we walked in was a simple “hello.” I wouldn’t recommend this place; my boyfriend even started experiencing stomach pain afterward. If you want to avoid any discomfort, I suggest steering clear of this restaurant.

It had been a while since I visited a La Puente location, and since it’s conveniently near my workplace, I decided to give it another try. I ordered the Grande Nachos, and when they arrived, I was surprised to see that all I could see was melted cheese, a small scoop of guacamole, and a side of sour cream. I was about to say something when I noticed that the toppings (diced tomatoes, onions, olives, and jalapeños) were actually underneath the cheese. This left me a bit confused, as I expected the toppings to be on top, which is how nachos are usually served. I didn’t take a photo since I only had a 30-minute lunch break and needed to get back to work.
Went to La Puente with a friend. Neither of us had been. We sat down ordered pretty quickly. The menu is decent sized. Everything has priced well. Chips salsa were good. I thought the salsa was a little spicy, good flavor. I had the bean tostadas, which I didn’t understand it came with two of them. They were decent portion size was pretty big. The rice was really good! My friend ordered the enchiladas. I tried the red enchilada sauce, I wasn’t a big fan of the enchilada sauce they had. Not a super fancy place, everything seemed clean. Staff was friendly.
The staff here is very friendly, so this review isn’t about the service. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The enchiladas had a plastic taste and were unappetizing. Additionally, the images on Google don’t accurately represent the restaurant; it’s located in a rundown strip mall. The margaritas were also lacking—essentially just the mix and ice, with zero tequila. I apologize for being so blunt, but it’s necessary to highlight the issues at this establishment. Had a beef enchilada. I had a beef enchilada that ended up being ground beef, rather than shredded beef. The size compared to other restaurants is pretty small. Also, when asked if they could make it a pork chili Verde and they claimed the sauce would leak out the burrito. I've had pork chili Verde chimichanga many times from other restaurants.Major bummer
I'm not sure how this restaurant has a 4-star rating. The pictures aren't accurate and appear to be of another location. The food fell far short of expectations; the margarita tasted like lemon water, and the salsa resembled spicy marinara sauce. It's safe to say I won't be returning here.
I crave this salsa and can’t find it or any worthy recipe ANYWHERE!! Every time I visit my parents from NYC this place is our first stop for a few pints!!! The rest of the food is authentic Americanized Mexican and always super fresh and flavorful, we love this place, you will too!!!
Such wonderful people and great food! We eat here nearly every week. They remember and know our drink order right when we walk in the door. So friendly and so nice. Great little place!Kid-friendliness: Fair priced kids meal options. Simple and comes with a drink Reserva una mesa ahora
The food was disappointing. I've been here twice, and both times the taste was terrible. My breakfast burrito used a pita instead of a tortilla and was so messy, leaking juice everywhere.
We arrived at 8:30 as a group of four, but they refused to seat us and only offered takeout. We definitely won’t be returning!
