"Came across this charming little restaurant while wandering through the old walled city.Despite being among the first people to be seated for lunch, the service was very slow. The food when it eventually arrived was good and I had a generous portion of moules marinieres with frites. My husband had grilled sardines with potatoes which he said was OK.Good value for money."

Grilled sardines and a chocolate crepe, that was lunch. For drink, a glass of wine and a bottle of Badoit (mineral water). The food was very good. The atmosphere was pleasant. The service was superb! Every one of the team was in a great mood, smiling, swinging by the table to see if we needed anything, taking care of us. After we paid, one of the waitresses picked up our empty Badoit bottle, considered it, and asked if she could fill it with tap water for us. It took a moment to register. No one had ever asked me that question. Why not? she said. It's a sunny afternoon and you need the water. No need to waste a good bottle. It was a small gesture, but to be honest, I was touched. It reflected the thoughtfulness and consideration we had experienced from the moment we walked through the door. I wish this place was closer to home. I’d be there every day.

We ate here having tried to eat first in the Cosy just a couple of doors down Having been turned away because we had kids (avoid the Cosy like the plague)!. la Saline was welcoming, friendly and despite being extremely busy the service was quite timely. We had a mix of galettes, salads and kids menu, all followed by crepes and coffee with soft drinks. Lunch came to around 62€ which isn't bad in a tourist my spot in height of holiday season and with people queuing at the door for a table. I enjoyed my galette and crepe, although I suspect my wife would have found it too buttery had she had that rather than a salad. Her salad looked great though. Pleased we are here rather than in the horrid Cosy a few doors down.

We ordered the plat du jour - a rather stingy 4 sardines followed, but hey, you get what you pay for. However, having checked with the waitress (the daughter) that we could substitute a creme de marron crepe for the advertised caramel crepe, the patron duly arrived and plonked 2 creme caramel crepes down. He refused to accept that his daughter had OK'd a change (which we would have been quite happy to pay a supplement for). His aggressive responses were unnecessary and disappointing. His wife was considerably more mature about it. We should have read the other reviews!

We had a very good lunch here. The galettes and crepes were fresh and truly well-done. Homemade quality. The ingredients of the galette reminded us of a good country meal - jambon, potatoes, mushrooms, etc. Then, of course, they have the crepes au beurre salé, and all other sorts of sweet crepes. They also serve a delicious farmer's cidre, which they only sell by the bottle. Farmer's cidre is hard to find in restaurants, so it was a treat! The service was great, too. This is my second time at this restaurant and this time was just as great as before.
