This restaurant in Old Montreal/Old Port offers a classic European atmosphere and focuses on using ingredients sourced from Quebec and Canada. The menu is heavy on meat and seafood, with traditional French dishes being a highlight. Those who enjoy meat will appreciate the variety of options, but there are also plenty of seafood choices available. The restaurant offers outstanding wild game selections, such as wild boar ragout, elk, venison, and bison dishes. The service is attentive and top-notch. The menu and wine list are reasonably priced and offer great value. The restaurant is a great spot for people-watching on Rue Saint Paul and is a refreshing departure from the typical tourist eater...

The menu seemed promising and the view very interesting on St-Paul Street directly in Old Montreal. First of all, the white tablecloths are stained. We order a bottle of wine. The waiter brings us the wrong bottle and doesn't understand that we are telling him it's not what we ordered ... it's a Merlot he tells us. Yes but it is not that one! He returns, consults 3 other people and ends up coming back with the maid. It begins badly. As a starter, a garden salad and an onion soup. Nothing special. The deer is served with the wrong sauce besides having the wrong cooking (I asked for rare and I got medium). Mons husband ordered the trio of game and one piece had such a strong sauce that he coul...
From the very beginning, our experience at this purported French restaurant was disappointing. Despite claiming to offer French cuisine, the wait staff only communicated with us in English, which was unremarkable. We were waited on by several different individuals, to the extent that we couldn't even determine who our actual server was. The only waitress who stood out was the most sympathetic, although our inquiries were largely met with brusque responses. The food was underwhelming, especially the steak which was riddled with gristle and there was no follow-up to ensure the cooking met our expectations. The service was virtually non-existent, with a lengthy wait of thirty minutes before we...
We went on a Sunday night and ate outside. Three of us made sure to order different items so we could sample each other's and get a good variety. Shrimp bisque, onion soup, escargot, pate, elk, bison, venison, and a pasta dish with seafood were all delicious. The potatoes served with my entree were salty for my taste, but I was alone in that assessment, so maybe I'm the weirdo. The location is perfect for sitting outside and taking in the street scene in Old Montreal. There are so many fantastic restaurants to visit in Montreal that it's hard to justify eating at any of them twice, but this is a restaurant we will definitely remember and return to. We truly enjoyed this dining experience. Beautiful setting--dining inside or outside. (Fun people watching outside).Very friendly and attentive wait staff. The duck confit with cranberry sauce was excellent! Escargot was served on a bed of baby spinach and fresh herb cream sauce, accompanied by a petite puff pasty. So many tantalizing menu choices, you will need to visit more than just once. Oh, and try their own beer. Refreshing and just the right thing on a slow relaxing afternoon stop. So many little restaurants to try in this area. But try this one first! You won't be disappointed!
Montreal, a holiday ... 26 ° in the shade ... The restaurants on Place Jacques-Cartier and those on rue Saint-Paul are crowded. Only one small place on the terrace at this restaurant. At 2 p.m. the waiters look exhausted. The service is slow. The starter, the salad is good. Mussels and fries too. But the portions are not generous. Only then, if there is no room elsewhere, do not hesitate ...
Nice place for dinner in one of the most charismatic roads of the area.Good varied menu with fresh fish of the day on the boardOutside tables to soak up the atmosphere with attentive service from the Burgundian proprietor Everything was cooked and prepared to order and we enjoyed it allRecommended
This restaurant is in a great spot for people-watching. I recommend asking for a table inside with a corner view. The service was excellent with experienced and traditional staff, which is a rarity and much appreciated. The food was delicious, especially the pork medallion. Reserva una mesa ahora
Came here for dinner during the Jazz Fest. Had their sampling plate of elk, venison and boar in a red wine sauce, as well as a foie gras terrine. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Also a good spot for people watching, or a quiet dinner for two...
