La Sauvagine is what you’d imagine encountering while in a French village. It’s gorgeous little bistro with attentive staff and a very traditional country menu. From escargot and terrine to start to wild boar stew or duck confit as your main course you cannot go...wrong. Experiment and enjoy. The wild board in the port wine reduction was flavorful, but not gamy and tender tender tender. The local aperitif wines to start as perfection. End the evening with portuguese Delta coffee and a scrumptious dessert. Take your time and enjoy the conversation with the very experienced and attentive wait staff. Bon apetite!

our second night in Vieux-Port, old montreal, and looking for a unique Quebecois/French culinary experience. we had seen the menu earlier on the day and the more tourist hunting, in la sauvagine on rue st. paul. the environment is cozy, the service impeccable, and. an amazing menu selection combines unique quebec kitchen, including a lot of game meat, with French bistro overtones. in addition, there is a great selection of weeping and spiritual. this is a hidden gem that has not yet been discovered by the masses and is worth a visit.

had an exit during the lockdown, which proved to be the best meal we had during our stay in kanada from london. scallops and garnels for beginners, salmon and seaford pasta for main. all were perfectly cooked and so well seasoned. real. quality eating, they support their local business during these difficult times because they deserve it!
