This restaurant is terrible. We regret ever eating there.First we picked our meals from the menu, which is way too short. After ordering, we had to order once again with the second waitress because the first one had apparently written everything down in the wrong order. Nevermind, we thought, mistakes happen. 5 Minutes later the waitress came back to tell us there's no chicken. Shouldn't she have known that beforehand? Did they run out of chicken just before we arrived? Anyways, we ordered lamb instead and then we waited. And waited. Finally, our drinks arrived. Then we waited some more. Waited. Ordered more water. Having seen that this restaurant/gastro pub was in the top 5% of eating places in Nantes we gave it a try. Nice old building, menu listed one starter and three mains, all lamb (check out its name). No problem to us we thought. A friendly welcome was followed by the almost immediate appearance of drinks and menus. We both opted for the starter and a kebab (lamb of course) and a bottle of something nice to go with it. The starters arrived and appeared to be a random assortment of items, all with strong and competing flavours. The kebabs arrived with potatoes, which I have to say were the most delicious items of the evening. We don't know how, or in what they were cooked but they were delicious...
This restaurant is a safe choice. Food is great and staff is ok. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. But there is room for improvement. The cooking of the souris d'agneau was more than perfect, but the piece of meat was covered in a dark unattractive not really tasty substance. Presentation is important too! Asking for salt resulted in delivery of a plate with salad (!). My French is certainly not perfect, but "sell and salad" are quite different.....After delivery of the bill, nobody showed up to settle the payment. The chef tried to compensate that by offering a drink, but the best performance is to have a strong(er) focus on the customer!
The restaurant has a lovely decor and we received a warm welcome. Whilst there were smoked salmon and various salads available for starters, we went straight for the slow cooked lamb (restaurant name translated is literally "mouse of lamb" which in the UK we'd refer to as calf or lower leg). This was served in a delicious rich sauce which included onions, garlic and cumin; it also came with roasted potatoes which were topped up on request. The host was very friendly and spoke very good English, having worked in a number of top UK restaurants. Very good value, good choice of wines. Highly recommended.

Great and simple at the same time (12 hours of preparation for our "souris d'agneau"). Very welcoming, we even got to visit the kitchen.
A place with good atmosphere and good music. Off course the food was good. The speciality is le couscous d'agneau. Very recomendable.

This is a beaitiful little restaurant in the heart of Nantes, particularly good for a long lunch.
