We had made a reservation in the restaurant when booking. We preferred to have the aperitif on the terrace, since it was very warm. After minutes waiting for service a young lad came to take our order. We ordered Kir au vin blanc....The lad said oh really an original Kir, which we confirmed. At the same time we asked for something like nuts or olives with the aperitif. He answered that that might be difficult (in contrast to last year when we got rillettes on toast and olives), but he would ask a colleague. I can't write a review of the restaurant without also mentioning the hotel as our experience had both intimately paired. When we arrived it was like you were in one of those period piece movies with you riding your horse across their grand entryway heading...toward the castle. It is magnificent. Checkin was easy and they upgraded us to the Superior Room at the top of the right tower seen in the picture. This is the room that you want and just so you know, the bathroom occupies almost half of the circumference of the tower on that floor. I usually do not write a negative review on a first visit someone can have a bad night after everything. but sometimes you have to take it. la table de marçay is in the local realisation a few times ago. Previously it held...a michelin star, but the hotel was recently taken over and renovated. I had the impression that just before the reopening the food was thought to be a standard bistro style, but a new article was said that they were hoping to win this Michelin star again. the setting is nice, but everything else is not fun. the service was bad, timeless and inattentive with many mistakes through the night. For example, forget cutlery, a wine menu for the entire restaurant, long waits between the curses and seemingly preferred treatment for those who stay in the lock. we have changed from cursing because it took so long. both fish courses had scaling and bones, and yet no explanation was given after they were told that they would talk to the cook. completely overpriced for what they actually get. a very disappointing evening. We had the menu Les pieds sous la table (your feet under the table) which was a very good choice. We recommend to order this menu; it gives you a very good and wide impression of the high level of the kitchen staff. All dishes...were of high quality, served in a pace that goes with such an extensive meal. We gave the sommelier a free hand in selecting the accompanying wines. The result was top. Staff is very professional, attentive and friendly (which can be quite different in France). we gave him a free hand in the choice

eating is excellent here. it is well prepared, cooked and served and is of the highest quality. the wine list is extensive, but ask them constantin to combine the wee with their food, do not forget to have a per bottle budget or they just...might have a shock!. the maitre alex is also helpful to explain the eating for not French speakers. Do not miss the chance to eat here.

We had a lovely meal here which was exceptional value and the staff were awesome. In fact the restaurant saved the visit as we felt the hotel rooms were really poor! A massive well done to the young lady whom waited on us throughout the...meal, she did a really great job. I ate in the restaurant around years ago....and I’m pleased with the changes you have made!

We occupied a beautiful room with terrace ... a little fresh air in the room made the enclosed quickly disappear. The place is wonderful and very quiet! The services are reduced to their strict minimum: no bar, restaurant etc. Only for the châtelaine atmosphere prices are a little too high. Reserva una mesa ahora

We had an enjoyed a wonderful meal in a lovely setting . Impeccable service well presented delicious food, and a scary wine list, pages But easy to find some gems. The venue was lovely so certainly worth the trip. Not cheap, euros for...an espresso is hard to justify.

stay at chateau de marçay on a bike trip. the restaurant was fantastic. the tasting menu was delicious and adventurous. weinliste excellent. service was excellent. highly recommended.
