PRO'S: La Tapatia Mexican Cafe is a true Tex-Mex neighborhood cafe. We particularly like the delicious house Margaritas Botana Fiesta mixed platter. Graciela, our waitress was outstanding. Plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. Very child friendly cafe.CON'S: NoneSUMMARY: Our first time visit to La Tapatia tells us we will be back soon.Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly booths, tables and outdoor patio seating.Wheelchair accessibility: One level restaurant with good door access. I did not checkout the bathrooms for wheelchair access.
The food was quite bland and lacked flavor. We sat at the bar and spent a reasonable amount, but Sr. Graciela sent her assistant to serve us, and she ended up keeping all the tips. Since it was my friend's birthday and we had already settled the bill, Graciela offered to bring a cake as a gift, but then charged us for it even though we didn't request it. The issue isn't that we minded paying for the cake; rather, we didn't ask for it in the first place, which is why we expected it to be complimentary.
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. I almost go weekly. They have the best margaritas! You only need two!!! The food is amazing as well. I haven't had anything on the menu that I didn't like.
We visited during Happy Hour and ordered some frozen margaritas. They were quite good for $6, though a bit too sweet for my liking. Overall, I would definitely come back.
