La Taverne - Reservar una mesa

Delicious traditional French restaurant lovely to finally get away from all the English people we kept hearing! The formula wasn’t to our taste (frogslegs followed by beef) so we ordered a la carte but still thought it was good value. Our enjoyed fresh...tagliatelle with pesto and beautifully chargrilled vegetables; my husband I enjoyed fish of the day a tasty fillet of cod abs huge decorative prawn with delicious pimms purée veg. Our baby smacked on bountiful bread. Pudds were great too hubby definitely chose best with a very generous cafe gourmand (creme brûlée, Choc cake, fruit, Chantilly, polenta cake). We are planning to return next week before our holiday is over.

We live near Bergerac and decided to drive out to Aubeterre for lunch, as the terraces of restaurants are now open, normally Aubeterre would be busy but it was a bit empty. Not many restaurants open. Chanced upon this restaurant and very glad we did....The food was good and presented very well. The terrace is lovely and the service was good. Had the house red wine which was really good. My husband, who is Mr. fussy ate everything. Would recommend it.

A delicious lunch from start to finish, every course was excellent and lots of attention to detail to make it special. It's an inclusive restaurant with kids' play area if needed, outdoor balcony seating and some nice views across to the woods below. Service very...good, French-speaking only, lots of French diners, which is always a good sign.

We really enjoyed our lunch at La Taverne, which is located in a beautiful setting in the village. All of the staff were very friendly, the service was excellent and the food was very, very good and great value.

If you visit Aubeterre, I'd recommend you eat here. Really good food, cheerful service, great atmosphere. What more could you want?
