La Taverne - Reservar una mesa

Parking on a wet night in Hazebrouck, we rushed to the next bar, La Taverne. It looked authentic Flemish inside, served local beer and a good glass of wine, and we enjoyed our snacks, variations on croque-monsieur. So we decided to return the next night and have a proper meal. The wine contained in the Prix Fixe menu was far less than that I had chosen before and the main course was very bad indeed: old cauliflower [you could see where the bad pieces were cut off], very few potatoes, and hardly edible chicken in an almost tasteless fat sauce. We had a few hours before the ferry to Dunkirk. We moved to the main square and chose it for a quick lunch. It was excellent. We loved it all. The English of the young waitress was only marginally better than my French, but he went on and I was all the more grateful for it. The food was great. I'm going to embark on our next trip.

We saw we liked the view and were thrilled. Service prompt and fleet despite a roaring lunch trade. Never forget. Eat all fine and fresh, and beautiful beer selection. Characteristic room from the 1920s. Excellent!

The first people at 18:00 had the set menu. Service was good, wine excellent, food excellent and price was appropriate.
