after a big storm, we came on the covered terrace, five table restaurants. the other four tables had canceled over the weather, and due to a miscommunication at the end we came too late for an hour. Nevertheless, chef arnie warmly welcomed us and insisted that he still fed us. what followed was one of the best meal times of my life. in a land of foie gras, his foie gras with local nuts with calcareous speck was tops. I ordered a ribeye that was smoked backwards and then smoked over wood on the peculiarity of the lock. it was then bathed in a heavenly red wine sauce. my wife had trout that was also perfectly executed. weeping and dessert were also top regal. to round it off, the rezing storm...
Nous avons passé un fabuleux moment au château de la Benechie et tout était vraiment parfait, à tel point que nous n'avions plus envie de partir...Le cadre est incroyable; une terrasse romantique joliment décorée, un petit havre de paix à deux pas de sarlat, des montgolfières et des biches au loin... waouh! La cuisine est succulente (comptez entre 17 et 30€ le plat). Nous avons goûté le canard en deux façons accompagné d'une sauce a l'orange et de pommes de terre sarladaises , vraiment excellent!Les propriétaires sont charmants et le service est soigné et attentionné.Merci encore pour cette soirée que nous avons adorée!
Un petit coin de paradis ! Nous sommes allés diner ce soir et nous sommes enchantés par ce restaurant situé à quelques kilomètres de Sarlat. Les propriétaires sont vraiment adorables, très souriants et nous ont très bien accueilli à leur magnifique terrasse. Au pied de ce magnifique château, une vue imprenable sur le Sarladais ! La cuisine est sublime. La viande et le poisson sont parfaitement cuits au barbecue et les accompagnements sont plein de saveurs ! Il serait dommage de ne pas venir profiter du calme et de la féérie de cet endroit !! Profitez-en !
The family, 6 in all, had a wonderfully relaxed evening on the terrace, with great views. Most of us went for the BBQ option which was excellent. I've never had such delicious BBQ'd food, with such a great sauce. The owners are relatively new to...this, which adds to the ambiance and the quirkiness of the place. We loved the interaction with the owners, both of them are friendly and charming.. Please note that this is cash only. Great place, try it you won't be disappointed.

Cela commence avec un cadre magnifique ensuite l'accueil d'une gentillesse exemplaire après les plats sont juste parfait nous avons 2 enfants ils ont adoré et petit plus accès à la piscine . Nous sommes restaurateurs et ne mettons jamais d'avis mais la il s'impose de le faire merci a eux

Together with friends I enjoyed a very delicious, fresh and high quality dinner at La Benechie. Arnie is a great host and fantastic cook and the location is very cosy with phenomenal views. Would recommend!
Had a delicious entrecôte … too tender to use a knife for … Arie is superb! Very friendly and obviously a man who can cook … the terrace is just a nice place to be as well … Recommending this …

Ellen and Arnie are so gracious and their food is delicious. We stayed for a week and were sad to go! A really wonderful base for exploring the Dordogne!
