A friend remarked that La Tonnelle is "dangerous" because the wines are so well selected and so reasonably priced that you can get in plenty of trouble there. Well, it's true, but you don't have to go all out. Just know that you have been warned.This casual, but efficient and professional, wine bar has a stunningly good list, and the wines are complimented by really delicious platters. A nice twist is that in addition to charcuterie and cheese, they also have a seafood and "sashimi" plate that is an excellent and a lovely match against the Loire Valley white wines.The decor is sparse and minimal, but recently (May 2017) featured local artists and photographers that are definitely a notch up....
Decent craft beer selection, great wine selection and a very good whisky selection although personally, I would like to see more premium whiskey on offer. If you want a relaxed drink, overlooking the Loire with friendly patrons and staff, this place has it all. Very relaxed and welcoming, it is a very easy place to lose a few hours. I knock a point off as it is not easy to get a second drink in from waiting staff. A 30 minute check in with patrons or a subtle glass check ever 45 minutes is recommended. If nothing else, 2 simple acts of proactive customer service *may* increase customer satisfaction and bar turnover.
Popped in for relaxed meal after recommendation from Le Patio. Had the large mixed platter of goodies between the two of us, which consisted of cheeses, meats and salad with lots of wonderful bread, all washed down with great beer. Background music cool, good staff to customer focus, would return without a doubt.
We were looking for something light for Lunch, and we tried a petite platter of charcuterie and fromages plus a couple of glasses of wine. It was fantastic. €14. A bargain. Larger platters available. We would definitely go back.

Although a wine bar, my husband enjoyed a couple of beers. I had Cremant. Obviously large selection of wine and friendly, attentive, staff to advise/recommend. We also had a selection of cheese which was very good.
Good, if simple, food and a massive choice of (mostly local) wines. Nice setting near to the river and it catches the sun in the late evening. Great if you're after something laid back and simple
We visited here recently and had a meat and cheese platter and a few glasses of excellent local wines. The service was great and we managed to spend a couple of hours here without any problem
Lovely wine bar that offers various cheese/meat platters along the Loire! Good quality price and a big platter is good to share for two! Definitely recommend!

Very nice lunch had here by our family of 10 over the Christmas period. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Good choice of wines, simple plates of food and a great setting in the evening for a relaxing few drinks
