Seldom do I utter, “We should have gone to McDonalds” but after eating here last night, that is what I did. First thing you need to know about Grandcamp Maisy is that it’s dead quiet on Sunday. That’s good and bad. It’s good because you...can rest and relax. It’s bad because your restaurant choices are very limited. It was the limited part that made us head for La Trinquette, which our Air BnB host said was awesome. Well not so much. We arrived and were seated by a nice waitress. After that we had two other waitresses. One smiled, one appeared to have a bad case of hemorrhoids. We waited for 20 minutes to see a menu. Then another couple arrived and received an English menu. They continued on...

A family of 5 came with high expectations July 19th 2020 after reading the reviews. Our conclusion is that the service was poor and the food far below our expectations. For the service we had a stressed waitress that forgot us and pretty much lost...her temper. She even removed her corona mask while arguing! The food appeared fresh but was lacking any kind of special touch. Unfortunately we cant recommed this place :

Great restaurant (requires reservation) with a high popularity level within the local community. Ambiance is high-class and the menu is very broad. Especially the fruit de mer can be recommended! Serving is typically french so take your time as dining will be a full evening...experience.

I returned after 10 yrs and even better than in my souvenir. Fresh sea-scallops to perfection as well as seabass. Only bemol the vegetables could have been more « al dente » but truly a palate experience. I can’t wait to go back !

Most of our food was good (don't order the rumsteak), but the staff forgot us and took forever to get us our order.
