La Val's has been my favorite pizzeria for the last 40 years! I grew up enjoying their pizzas. However, during my recent visits, I have been quite underwhelmed and disappointed. I'm sure the restaurant has changed ownership several times, but the quality has definitely declined while the prices remain high. The most obvious letdown is the crust; it has become extremely thin. It now resembles the offerings from places like Mod, Blaze, and Pieology, but at a much higher price.
We got to our boat later than anticipated and were just too tired to cook. I literally looked at photos on reviews as we have no idea about pizzas in Alameda. Courteous, on time and pizza was fantastic. We had the Hawaiian. Lots of meat, cheese andpineapple. We will be here 2 months before taking our boat back to the Delta. I am sure we will be getting more.
Bingo!!! ???????? You can still find gold in the Bay Area? I stumbled across this golden nugget this evening for dinner. My daughter and I shared a BBQ chicken pizza and order of cheese garlic bread? everything was on point and tasted fresh!! Stoppingin at La Val?s is a must the next time I?m in town? Faction Beer was on point as well!!
Hit and miss. Pizza ???? was ok and buffalo wings???? were bland. The worker/owner was rude. I asked why the buffalo wings had no buffalo sauce he said they only have one type of wings. The pizza was excellent, and I really enjoyed the variety of sauce options. However, I was a bit surprised by the size of the large pizzas, as they seemed smaller than expected. You might want to consider ordering more than you originally planned!
Let me begin with the ambiance. The restaurant offers a lovely view of the water, accompanied by a few ducks wandering about. It's quite charming for the little ones as they wait for their pizza.
