I've been going to LaZona cafe since it first opened with Irene, the owner, running it. Before Irene took over management it was called The Hairy Canary.It has always been my go-to Gymea cafe due to the great service, friendly staff, excellent prices , fantastic $14 lunch specials (which began at $12) and generous servings.I have left 5 ***** reviews in the past.However, Irene has now left and the new owner Craig has not only changed the name recently to LaZona Grill and Bar )which isn't a problem and/or negative, but has also hiked up the prices way too high and diminished the serving size.For example - the quinoa,chicken and pumpkin salad (which is deeelic iouss) was $14 with loads of chic...
I received a recommendation from a local to visit this restaurant and I was not disappointed. The coffee had hints of honey, toffee, and a woody flavor that set it apart from a typical arabica blend. I would rate it 9/10! The bacon and egg roll on a brioche bun with avocado was delicious. I was sad when I finished my coffee and roll because I enjoyed them so much. I wish this restaurant was closer to me so I could visit more often. Keep up the great work!
The owner, Craig was a wonderful, generous and welcoming host and our meals were well portioned, delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back and recommend this restaurant for a relaxing dining experience that offers great food and terrific service!
Some of the best coffee in the Shire, and great staff too. My only complaint would be that the skim milk is actually too good and creamy, which is not to my taste, but it shows they care about their product. Their reputation is well deserved.

My favourite cafe in the Gymea/Miranda area. Staff are super friendly, coffee is great, and they have the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had!
Great coffee, fresh juice and delicious food. Bit of a delay from coffee and food as the kitchen is downstairs but worth the wait.
Pulled pork open melt was very tasty and generous. Prices reasonably. Coffee was ok too.
