They have a large offer of vegan and vegetarian dishes at AHA (stands for ‘anders handeln’, meaning trading differently). Their focus clearly lies on fair trade goods and they host a fair trade shop in the basement, note that the store has more limited opening times. It was a bit hard to attract their attention but service is very friendly. We indicated a time constraint and they tried their best to provide our diner in time. I sat outside in a somewhat flowering pedestrian zone right at the cross church. the buildings and sunshades made for a lot of shade. When I arrived, it was already lunch, so I was afraid not to get the breakfast. but the server was so nice and got me the big vegan breakfast anyway. it consisted of three bungalows, some antipasti, humus, some curry spreads and various slices of vegan alternatives. total not enough rolls for the number of toppings. Loved this place. It looks dead from the outside but when you go in its full of people. They have an English menu and the staff speak English too. You may need to wait for or otherwise share a table. When I went, mid afternoon, a lot of tables were in fact reserved. They specialise in some German and international food, often vegetarian or leaning that way. Everything is made in house. My lentil soup with wurst was excellent, probably the best thing I've eaten in Germany. It was served with excellent bread. They also had a lot of coffee etc though I don't recall cakes or alcohol. Ignore the menu posted in the door as it only shows breakfast. They have more choices inside.

Lots of options and a good place to stop right near the main Platz. Had soup and salad, which the salad is a self serve bar so you can pick what you’d like. I had the vegan potato soup which was pretty good not anything amazing but it was warm and filling! Friends had the vegan pumpkin soup and lentil soup, and the consensus was about the same. Solid choice if you want a filling, healthful lunch before eating all of the Christmas market food! There was lots of options labeled vegan, including soups, pastas, pastries, and other more filling meals.
If you want to have a vegan breakfast or lunch in Dresden, go to the shop café Aha. There are three different breakfast options, vegan soups and a few vegan main dishes. The prices are more than fair, the staff super friendly and the spreads for breakfast super delicious. In the large vegan breakfast there are two spreads, three slices of non-cheese, three slices of tofu and three slices of non-wurst (more than sufficient). I would definitely come back!
We came here for lunch and the food was great. I ate a traditional potato soup and my son had a couscous burger. The herbal tea was really tasty, as es the chocolate milkshake. They make a 50cent charge for tap water. The only small thing is that they don't accept foreign bank cards, so unless you bank in Germany, you'll need to take cash.
There are some vegan options on the menue and usually some vegan cake is available. However it takes the service forever to pass by your table. So cannot recommend when you are on a rush. Food is good though

This is a great restaurant in Dresden, very reasonably priced and tasty food. I had the traditional potato soup for lunch and it was a huge serving Lots of vegan options available and marked in the menu
Mushroom pan with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes will set you right after a day long journey across the ocean to get to Dresden. Good food and wine in mellow confines
