Lake View Fish & Chips

Undoubtedly, this restaurant serves the best fish and chips in the area. As someone who is very particular about their fish and chips, I can be harsher in my ratings compared to others because I grew up in a fish and chip shop and know what constitutes a good batter. There have been times when they are so busy that customers have had to wait outside. However, when they are this busy, their organization can become chaotic and their communication with customers suffers. So, if you're planning to visit on a Friday afternoon, I recommend calling ahead to place an order and save yourself some time waiting around.

Old and smelly. You can smell the decade old oil the minute you walk in the door. Staff have no sense of customer service and you'll struggle to get a welcome, hello or a smile out of them the food tasted like the staffs attitude .... dull dry and boring. There is no love here at all. Lost me as a local unfortunately.

I don't usually order takeaway food, but if i do this is one of very few takeaways I use in my area - Everything seems so fresh. I have ordered some of the following: fish (battered flake - good size pieces), crab/seafood sticks, battered scallops and crumbed prawns. Cant fault the food or the service.

I've been coming here for years and have always been impressed with the freshness and quality of the food. The service is always very good and the hop itself is clean and inviting. Ordered take away flake, it was 'slimy' under the batter, couldn't eat it. Won't be going back unfortunately. It was a Tuesday and 'The Flakery" was closed, which is always fabulous and fresh.

Thank you loved the fish and chips. Great value, the oil that you cooked them in was very clean. I generally goto our local fish and chip shop how ever glad i changed tonight. Well done

This restaurant has the best fish and chips in the area, but their outdated and inconvenient minimum EFTPOS limit is a downside. It's 2019, and most people don't carry cash anymore.

Came to a wedding here - at the Gardens House - and loved it Perfect for smallish weddings.
