Pezens: half way between Carcassonne and Castelnaudary on the Unprepossessing countryside, lots of lorries. We live in the next village over, and L’Ambrosia is our first choice for guests and for us! The tasting menus are superb, as are the wine recommendations. Valérie and Sébastien have created a lovely place to enjoy beautifully crafted locally sourced plates. During...this time of lockdown, they are offering delicious menus for take-away or delivery on the weekends. We get to enjoy their cuisine while doing our little part to ensure their survival during this difficult time.

L'Ambrosia is top of our list for local good food. Chef Sébastien is endlessly creative while staying nicely with local fresh ingredients and traditions. Valérie is always welcoming, and recommends wonderful very local wines. Really high quality fine dining at very reasonable prices when we...can eat in the restaurant. Currently, during the second lockdown, their weekend take-out menu is fabulous part of our weekly routine. Highly recommended.

Enjoyable atmosphere and superbly cooked lunch and welcoming management and chef. Only one choice of plat du jour but good range of à la carte dishes available. The fixed menu plat du jour was good value at euros but beware that if you have...extras such as aperitifs and cheese plus coffee that the bill quickly becomes enormous even if still good value for money.

Atmosphere almost reverential yet very average food. Prefer Chateau Pennautier which has more vibrant dishes. What we had was very old school French bourgeoise style. If you like this go. If you like veggies with your meal or salad give it a miss. The...whole meal has no sparkle, no light hearted modern cooking. Heavy dishes.
