Lamingtons - Reservar una mesa

Popped in here a month ago to see what the place was like... Peaceful and cosy, there are lots of little knick knacks to look at and some are even for sale! We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left. Overwhelmed by the choice of cakes on offer on the counter, I wished to try the afternoon tea, so we had to forego the beautiful creations for the three tiers of delights brought out on the stand. It was so delicious, I immediately booked for a table of 10 to celebrate my Mother 's 80th birthday. This fell last week, and we had the perfect afternoon with high tea for all. After glasses of non alcoholic prosecco for all, we were served the freshest, most well filled sandwiches (salmon and cream cheese, perfectly seasoned egg mayonnaise, and cream cheese, cucumber and chive ; just baked scones with cream and proper strawberry jam (not, as my Mum pointed out, red jam, but strawberry jam like they used to make, where you can actually taste the berries! ; and a selection of cakes, macarons, mini eclairs, and sherry glasses of a fruity mousse, topped with fresh fruit and gold lustre. The crowning glory was a cake so fresh it refused to stay in one slice as my Mum tried to portion it! (Please note, this was purchased/arranged as an extra. The tea was hot and plentiful and was refreshed over and over. The two gentlemen who man the shop are the sweetest most friendly chaps ever. As others have mentioned, they are both deaf, but this doesn 't hinder anything indeed I even made sure I leaned a few key words in BSL, which I 've loved and I was taught a few more whilst I was there as well. Everyone said it 's an absolute gem and I believe everyone has plans to return. I will definitely be going back, as I want to try more of those cakes!! Thank you for making a very special day absolutely perfect. An absolute credit to the village and surrounding area! <3 x

We have been to Lamingtons a few times over the years, sometimes just for coffee and cake and sometimes for full-blown afternoon tea. The food is always delicious and the two owners incredibly friendly. The afternoon tea in particular really is the best that we have had. We even prefer it to tea in the big London hotels. It is very traditional, fresh and avoids any temptation to reinvent the afternoon tea! I should also mention that the two owners are amazing. They are very friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The location is a little out of the way, but it is absolutely worth the effort to get there!

Booked in advance for lunch/afternoon tea. Arrived after an hour plus drive from home, as did my friend, to find they were shut and a note in the window. I understand due to train strikes staff were unable to come in and they couldn’t open but why didn’t they let those with bookings know?! Had my mobile number from when I made the booking via text. When I complained there was not even an offer to compensate for our wasted trip (free something next visit). Such a shame, as been trying to find a regular place to meet my friend half way and it looked lovely.

Lovely afternoon tea to celebrate our birthdays. Non-alcoholic prosecco was a lovely touch and Mark looked after us very well. We’ll definitely return!

We had such a brilliant afternoon tea at this lovely tea room. The owners were fantastic and made it feel really special would definitely recommend
