We had a Friday dinner following a local recommendation saying this is an excellent restaurant with a very good Bavarian kitchen. The food was good but did not meet our expectations. In fact we had a much better experience at one of the...mountain top restaurants in the Alps a few days before so we could compare apples to apples with a different Bavarian restaurant which had no credentials. Soups were excellent. Vieanse Veal was actually a medium quality Austrian Schnitzzel. The German dumplings were OK but since we had some so much better we couldn 't be too excited. The desert (Apple pie) was also of medium quality.
the rooms were amazingly rustic and modern at the same time. we were greeted with personal services in the room and sekt. the employees and owners are very attentive, warm and professional. the kitchen was excellent traditional dishes with a modern twist (yes not too experimental.) we enjoyed every part of the stay, although the spa was not our main reason to stay.
My husband and I stumbled across this inn on our way to Newschwanstein. We loved it and have made a point to return one more time. The breakfast is supberb, the dinner was excellent. It is a serene place in a rural setting. My husband,...who is from Germany, rates this one high on his list. It met and exceeded all our expectations.
