"Gazebos, to protect from the sun, fabulous views of the Rhine Valley and is the river bank. Sit down and enjoy a white wheat beer or maybe a white wine, taste the Riesling that it doesn't get better on a sunny afternoon."

We went to St. Goar for a weekend getaway and decided to start our weekend with a cocktail and light food in this beer garden. The location is beautiful and there is a playground next door that is ideal for children. Perfect, right? Not long. Our good mood was soon damped when the waitress spilled our cocktails over us. Accidents happened and we were not too locked out. However, it took 45 minutes to get us replacement drinks (even if the restaurant was not excessively busy) and an hour to replace the food that had been drunk in alcohol. Once the food was served, we asked for some Mayo and ketchup for the pommes, just to be spun and say that every customer is only entitled to a Mayo or ketch...

Rebstock has a menu of reasonable size which offers local meats and fish of high quality. The main dining room is located through the bar and while not particularly special, is comfortable and pleasant. The night we visited we were the only ones in the main dining room. Our group of 4 ordered rump steak with pepper sauce, whole trout almondine and pork steaks. Everything tasted good but the prices were certainly higher than in the surrounding area. The tab for our group without appetizers and 2 glasses of wine, 1 cola and 1 beer was nearly 100 euro. Everyone enjoyed their food so the evening was pleasant, but a bit more costly than other places nearby.

Excellent placement on the edge of the centre of town, near the castle but mercifully at the foot of the steep hill. Spacious and comfortable al fresco dining in mellow surroundings with beautiful views of the Rhein valley. Relaxed and friendly service and I can certainly recommend the schnitzel with mushroom and bacon sauce with french fries.

the beer garden on the river is one of the most beautiful places to pass the afternoon. There are pavilions with comfortable furniture where each table is decorated with fresh flowers (tups this season). the garden is removed from any traffic noise, and you can sit and enjoy views of the river while you have delicious but cheap drinks.
