Very quiet here on the Sunday before New Year's Eve. Specials are special in both the L'angolo restaurants, and my burrata cheese appetizer special, wrapped in prosciutto on a bed of lettuce iirc! , was delicious. As was the swordfish special $28 , served with calamari and grilled shrimp atop a grid of sautéed potato slices and green beans although another of our diners thought it a bit oily . I shared the burrata with my wife, and still could eat only half the big swordfish entrée. The remaining portion made a nice supper on New Year's Eve. I have wanted to try this restaurant for sometime because I have enjoyed their South Philly location several times. I made a reservation last Thursday for a party of 8. Our shared appetizers came out in timely manner and were very good. Then the big delay came, waited over 45 minuets for entrees! It also took almost 10 minuets from the time the first entrees came to the last. The restaurant only had 4 tables seated?With the exception of 2 of us that had the rigatoni w/shrimp,(rigatoni was very hard,shrimp dried out )everyone was content with their meal.
We had dinner at this restaurant last night to celebrate my father's 98th birthday. Our group was large but not difficult. The food was delicious. I gave it 3 stars because the staff, for the most part, were rude. When I brought a cake, the manager (I think) informed me that there was a charge per plate to serve it. Our waiter was the rudest I have encountered in a long time. I am not eager to return. The younger support staff, however, were fine.
I was shocked to see that this restaurant had such a high rating. I dined with a group of four people and none of us enjoyed our meals. Mine was not just average, it was downright terrible. The service was also lacking. Despite all four of us barely touching our meals, the server did not seem to care. The only redeeming qualities were the ambiance and the burratta, hence the 2-star rating.

This restaurant serves low quality food made from inferior ingredients. The grilled romaine salad has a propane taste, the pasta is not homemade, and the sauces are made with poor quality meat. The fish was mushy and disgusting. Save your money and time by avoiding this place. It should be shut down. My experience was terrible and I will never come back.
BYOB restaurant with great dishes. Great staff to serve up the Italian type cuisine. The duck dish and the Braciola dish were tasty when we ate there 3/29. Mangia!
Vinny and the serving staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The appetizers and entrees were delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant.
This restaurant serves terrible seafood that is bad and smells awful. The food is saturated in olive oil, making it inedible. I am extremely disappointed.

The restaurant offers authentic Italian cuisine but could benefit from some improvements in the flavors.
Excellent food and service! Great value all considered! Looking forward to my next visit.
