My wife and I were vacationing in the Lago Maggiore region. We like Ascona and visited to walk along the beautiful promenade. We decided to find a place for an expresso and a gelato on the promenade. We stopped here, knowing that our drinks and snack would be expensive. It is Switzerland and everything is expensive in Switzerland. The expresso and gelato were fine, but... the server was quite rude. There are many other places for an expresso and snacks on the promenade so try another place. My wife and I would not stop here again because of the rudeness of the server.
It was late in the afternoon on a warm sunny autumn day when we stopped here for a pre-dinner drink. The views of Lago Maggiore are wonderful here as you are on the curve just as the road goes down to the lake. Good rose, nibbles served and friendly service. Next time we will actually have the ice cream they are noted for!
