Been to Langside Grocery a handful of times over the past year, usually on a date with my partner. The atmosphere here is cozy and chill, it 's not too loud or crowded. This past time we grabbed a table on the patio, which also had a nice ambiance.We ordered two gin based cocktails and were satisfied with them, although they were on the smaller side. We thought about finally trying the food menu, but their food prices are honestly laughable. $4 for a deviled egg, $4 per oyster (when most places charge $3-3.50) $16 for potatoes. $12 for a slice of dessert. We have no issue paying for quality and frequently visit Nola, the Oval Room, Preservation Hall, Sous Sol, and Thomas Hinds for food/drink...
I will start by saying this restaurant has potential to be a good one but failed horribly. The atmosphere was great a nice little pub area and beautiful patio, unfortunately this is where it ends. There were 3 tables being served when we walked in, as we sat down everything seemed to be going well, it took about 10 minutes for the server to return we ordered drinks and dinner, 10 minutes later we received our drinks, which were very good and refreshing. The server then left and we were not spoken to again for nearly 40 minutes, it was at this point we decided to leave, hungry and disappointed. The server returned to ask us for more drinks 38 minuets after we placed our order, at which point...
This is an absolute must try for Winnipeg. If you want an evening out for cocktails, and want to pretend you aren’t in Winnipeg, try these guys. Service people have a character of their own and will wow you. Sit at the window and view an outside view of Winnipeg that makes you believe you are elsewhere…try it…you won’t regret it!!! This is an outstanding neighborhood restaurant. It has a cozy and charming original interior with vintage glassware. The menu may be brief, but everything we ordered—charcuterie, meatballs, beet salad, roasted potatoes, and cocktails—was excellent. The cocktails are a bit pricey, but they are crafted to perfection. It seemed like a nice place, I liked the atmosphere and decor. However, we waited for our food for over 40 minutes, it was brought separately in weird random order, so we couldn’t enjoy it all together. On top of it, the was an owner there too with his friend, and he came after us but got his food right away. It makes a bad impression.
A chef's kiss for this establishment! The atmosphere is cozy, unique, trendy, and welcoming. I usually sit at the bar when I visit, and everyone behind the bar treats me like an important part of the team! Watching them meticulously craft each cocktail, pour the beer, and serve the delicious menu items makes me feel even more at home!
My first visit to this gem. We enjoyed a couple of very interesting new cocktails plus four dishes. We need to plan a revisit to try the other items on the menu. The place is small but so so warm. The bar area was very inviting and I will be sitting there next time. Add this place to your list!!!
We enjoyed a wonderful date night at Langside Grocery to celebrate my birthday with my husband. Our server was very helpful in recommending cocktails that suited my usual tastes, and the food was fantastic! The charming patio added to the experience, making it even more special.
