Although we aren’t locals, we found the restaurant easily. It's situated in a small plaza, and we had no trouble finding parking. Upon entering, we were seated right away. The food here is quite authentic, and during our lunch visit, it was bustling with diners. We particularly enjoyed the papaya salad; it had a nice kick, so if you're sensitive to spice, I recommend ordering it with a milder level. The mee gatee was delicious, but honestly, I couldn't finish it. The thum papaya was a standout for me; it had a nice kick and a rich umami flavor. I didn't get to try the chicken wings or the pho Lao, but since they were all gone quickly, they must have been tasty.
One thing to note about the thum kao piak was that I expected it to be just noodles, but it had a lot of added ingredients like cabbage and morning glory.
In short, we discovered that the amazing, authentic taste comes from the cook being from Ban Lao. She even stopped by our table for a chat while bringing a dish to another table. Hi, euy Noy! Lol.

I was at Lao kitchen 12/26/2023, ordered just 3 dishes, I really wasn't hungry but I needed to try since I don't come to Vegas that much.1)far from strip/main area of Vegas2)unique dining set up, nothing fancy at all.3)food took a while to come out.4)slow services due to ONLY one person who wore crocks serving us, not very polite, just straight forward and not friendly.5)overall great quality food, yet most of all, expensive forbade small portions of beef jerky and sausages. Even the papaya salad laobstyle was good but not enough for two people to relish.
This is our GO TO SPOT for AUTHENTIC LAO FOOD!! Never have been disappointed each time we come here. Food is great Service is great and the location is in a good area away from the Vegas strip!! My mouth is watering from writing up this post!! lol
We were so impressed with the flavors and portion sizes! We ordered the Nam Khao crispy rice and the Hainanese chicken. Both were addictively good and we had some to take home to enjoy later. We'll be back!
