Came here last Sunday night due for a Peking duck craving. Read numerous highly positive posts and blogs about this place so we were expecting nothing but the best Peking duck in Sydney, how so wrong were we. Duck was very punctual as we preordered during the week (this was the only highlight of all other things) and was carved next to the main entrance door which we found a bit strange. Anyways to cut a long story short the duck was bland and didn't ooze out any flavour (Gordon Ramsay's wrinkly forehead would truly be utterly depressed). This place is not pretty. The decor is 1950s laminex. The service is somewhat offhand and disinterested.So why come all the way to Enfield? It is the best Peking Style Duck that will get this side of Beijing. The duck meat is crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside(as it should be). You also get a WHOLE duck( many places rip you off by only giving you part and charge you for a whole one).The duck meat comes sliced by the chef, and with pancakes and condiments. We dined in this restaurant on the recommendations by a friend. The food was below average with Northern China peasant-like cooking style and selections. The place is filthy. The toilet is full of scattered toilet rubbish, as if it has not been cleaned for days given being at 5.45pm when the restaurant just starts serving. There are distinct black coloured oily wash basin and taps which are revolting. I can't bear myself touching them. The carpet in the dining area looks like 20 years old with black oily marks all over it. An overwhelming mouldy smell is present. After seeing all these, I can imagine what their kitchen looks like.
A small restaurant and easy to miss as the windows are all covered up but once inside the food makes p for the décor. A little cramped but that's because it's so popular and there Peking Duck makes you feel like you are eating in China. The fact the place had so many Chinese eating there means something but all cultures are warmly welcomed.

You must make booking for the Peking Duck else walk in can't have it. I found the duck skin not crispy enough, more like roast duck. Duck flesh not chewy maybe it's caged duck. Taste alright, price for the duck is $70 include duck soup with Chinese cabbage. Have to add $1 for additional cucumber/sauce. Braised beef tenderloin taste so so.
This is one of the few restaurants opened during the long holiday we were very lucky because they had great food and my family really love it. We ordered almost half of the menu and the sweet and sour chicken was my favorite. Vegetables for my taste was a bit bland for my Filipino taste buds.
This is surely one of the best Chinese restaurants for Peking duck pancakes. Unfortunately I had no room in my stomach to taste anything else on the menu. Do not be deterred by the provincial appearance of the restaurant. The duck was high quality!
Not sure if I ever had Peking duck, maybe I did when I was a child but I couldn't remember But heck this is a great one, filled my tummy so so good.
