La Patrona is everything. I love this little hidden gem. I've been coming to this place since it was a small hole in the wall on Tinton avenue in the Bronx. I used to live a few streets away from this establishment and always always always stopped for the best chicken tacos and birra tacos OMG TO DIE FORRRRR!!!!! From their soups to their freshly made drinks every single thing that is made here is superb. The horchata is so FRESH and delicious. The Limeade (limonada) is sooooooooo freaking ridiculously good. The Chicken in the nachos was not cooked properly. It was dry and didn’t have anyseasoning whatsoever. On top of this disgusting food, poor service, and empty place, they turned off the lights for a party that was coming in, making it hard to see and blasted extremely loud music. I do not recommend this place to eat and you are better off eating at the Popeyes across the street because this is a poor example of Mexican food.
Don't let the charming decor deceive you; this place does not serve authentic Mexican food. The dishes taste like they've been reheated and have a freezer-burned flavor. The waitstaff is inattentive and seems uninterested in providing good service. I was surprised to find cheddar jack cheese in the burrito and peas and carrots mixed in with the rice and black beans.
Patrona Mexican Cantina is my go-to spot! I typically order from their menu once or twice a week. The flavors are consistently excellent, and the portion sizes are generous. While prices have risen slightly recently, that's true across the board. Overall, Patrona offers great value with delicious food!

The Carnitas con Rajas were outstanding! The roasted pork paired beautifully with the rajas and the green sauce, which I believe was cilantro-based. The corn tortillas were fresh and delicious as well. Plus, the portions were quite generous. Yum!
Excellent food! I really enjoy the décor and the lively music that’s always playing. The service is fantastic, and this will definitely become one of my go-to places.
This place is outstanding! The food is fresh and incredibly delicious. My favorite dish is the chicken flautas.
