This family restaurant "at the Green Tree" in the middle a small Alsatian village is simply wonderful. The welcome by the owner, a charming elderly lady, is warm and accommodating (you can speak French or Alsatian with her). As is often the case with family restaurants in European towns, there is a more formal part where gourmet menus are served and a more rustic part where you can eat an excellent menu of the day and enjoy a glass of wine. The menu on the day of our visit enticed us to sit in the less formal part of the restaurant but once we saw the amazing menus served in the more formal restaurant, we asked to switch to a table there - a request that was honored with grace and efficiency...
We stayed in Berrwiller for a week at the end of August 2015. There are 3 restaurants in the village and when we first wanted to get an evening meal, L'Abre Vert was the only one open. Three days later when we decided to go out again we didn't bother to look at an alternative choice - this is a very good restaurant indeed. On our two visits we had both set menus and they were excellent. service is attentive without being too fussy or overbearing. The wine list is strong on Alsace (of course) but has good stuff from around France as well. On our first visit we were not happy with the wine we ordered and it was promptly replaced. Unreservedly recommend the restaurant.

I have been to the restaurant on Aug 13 with my family of 4 and had a great experience. If you happen to go through Berrwiller you would never imagine to find such a nice restaurant unless you know it already. Staff was really professional, fast and always ready to help and solve issues. Food is really good and you can feel that raw materials are at the foundation of the traditional but modern cousine they offer. Wine list is really comprehensive and able to satisfy any taste (not only French but international). Price is in line with the quality offered. I would definitely go back and explore more specialties. Merci beaucoup!

Came here for lunch at the suggestion of a local winery owner I have known for a long time and was very happy. Not cheap but high quality and easy-going informal atmosphere. I had pigeon and my girlfriend had foie gras, both at Eur 27. Half a bottle of Gewurtstraminer from Josmeyer was eur 24. It all came to eur 86 for two, I'd say it was worth it. We did not have so much time to linger around because we had more tastings waiting for us, but this restaurant would be a pleasant environment to spend a leisurly evening. The wine list was less than unforgettable though, it could be improved with more options.

An all around nice experience! Highly recommendable! Beautiful setting. Food amazing. You can try anything you like, the Chef knows his business. All the waiters are extremely attentive and friendly. You feel like being home.
I had a very nice lunch here all dishes using high quality ingredients and masterly preparation and presentation. Prices reasonable and service attentive. Fine dining without a hint of pretension. Recommended

Memorable moment. Affordable Sunday menus (32,00/39,00) with a long lasting succession of dishes, each one better than the previous one. 3 hours of pleasure. Wines were also affordable.
The standards here are very high; everything is done in the right way and cooked beautifully. Very very enjoyable.
