The Largs Pier Hotel is certainly popular, even for a mid-week lunch. As the autumn weather was excellent, my wife and I chose to sit at one of the popular outside tables providing a wonderful view of the adjacent Largs Bay seaside. A varied menu with many options to suit varying tastes and budgets. Staff were very friendly and cheerful. We chose to share a Pheasant Farm pate for starters, and then chose crumbed prawns and battered King George whiting respectively, each served with excellent chips & a quality, tasty salad. The Largs Pier was busy on a winter Sunday and we were lucky to get a table for 4 without a booking. I'd recommend phoning ahead to make a reservation.It's easy to see why it was busy. Great atmosphere, lovely sea view, friendly service and above average pub food.The kids had fish and chips, which was great value at $9.90 including a drink and icecream. We really enjoyed the burgers.While we opted for standard pub fare, we saw other diners enjoying other menu options such as duck, lamb shanks and pork cutlet, which all looked very tempting.The service was fast and friendly and the staff gave the impression that they were genuinely happy to be there. We again visited the Largs Pier for dinner on Valentines day, as it was our favourite seafood restaurant in SA, unfortunately I feel the need to revise my last rave review about how great this place is, the standards have dropped, we ordered the seafood platter and a serve of whiting. The whiting is normally covered in a thin crisp beer batter, this time it was covered in a thick soggy batter and the fillets were small. It tasted like frozen fish sticks. We couldn't finish our meal and were very disappointed. Hopefully it was a one off bad experience, but we are certainly not rushing to return.
We booked for dinner in the Largs bar, we were running very late and the guys were lovely about changing our booking.When we arrived, the menu was great there was lots to choose from. Our table ordered a range of different dishes, we were all served together and the quality of the food was great. This venue is a semi-regular breakfast spot. Breakfast Menu is quite extensive to suit most palates from toast, muffins, cereal, several versions of Eggs Benedict to Big Breakfast. Largs Breakfast represents good value for money. A walk on the pier, beach or foreshore is always an option.
Location of this place is perfect. Customer service is excellent. We had a variety of plates being pizza, seafood and beef. The wood fired pizza was very good. The beef schnitzel was ok but it was a bit oily. The salt and pepper squid were average. A great relaxing atmosphere.
We have been here a few times now and will definitely keep coming back. The food and prices are very comparable and the service is very friendly and excellent. If you have never been come and have a nice lunch by the sea and enjoy the whole ambience. Reserva una mesa ahora
