As a cornerstone of little Saigon, this should be a protected landmark. Vietnamese is being slowly displaced in favor of middle eastern as the dominant cuisine in the tenderloin but this place upholds Vietnamese food pridefully.The menu here is smaller than most but that allows them to increase the quality of ingredients and shows.True old school phó joint, no fancy ambiance, just homemade phó and spring rolls perfect for those cold SF nights which is pretty much always.
I recently sampled the pho and shrimp pancake at this restaurant, and I was genuinely impressed—it's like a culinary journey to Saigon! The ingredients are exceptionally fresh, the broth is rich in flavor, and the beef is deliciously seasoned. Plus, they use whole, unfrozen shrimp, which is a nice touch. The only drawback is the location, which feels a bit unsafe and makes parking a challenge. I sincerely hope this place sticks around!
The pho broth could have used a bit more flavor; otherwise, I would have rated it five stars. The portion size of the pho dac biet was generous and packed with ingredients, including plenty of tripe! The service was fast, and the atmosphere was pleasant.

While I was having my meal, I observed a member of the kitchen staff throwing trash bags onto the street across from the restaurant on Larkin. This behavior shows a lack of respect for the neighborhood.
The food at this restaurant is amazing! The ingredients are fresh, and the staff is extremely friendly. I ordered the dish F02, and I highly recommend it. The prices are also quite reasonable.
The owners and staff were friendly people. This food came fast and it was great. Got Pho Tai Nam it was delicious.
