"This small, family-owned restaurant serves the best lysters, mussels etc in the village. As the owner is also a producer the food is always fresh, direct from the lake (etang du Thau)"

First of all, the front of the restaurant is a little different than the picture as they have installed walls about 6' tall with glass all the way around to handle winds. I don't know if they remove them for the summer. We had the large shellfish platter which comes with a bottle of local wine. Everything was super. This large platter is for 2 . You have to read the sign to see the quantities involved but I know it has 24 oysters, then mussles, two kinds of escargot types, another local small shellfish, shrimp and bread. All of this for 51E coupled with great service. Almost everyone we saw had this or a smaller version of a shellfish platter.

Living in the area since nearly a decade, I have been extremly well surprised by this dinner out in Bouzigues at L'Arseillere as it offered my fiancée and I the exact gastronomic scenery we were expecting: perfect location facing Thau lake, oysters parks & the sunset, traditional architecture warmly coloured house & terrasse, warm hospitality & family owned business, friendly mix of local & tourists enjoying dinner, nice menu based on local products including Tielles sètoises & oysters produced by the founder of the restaurant, careful & merry service, nice playlist & delicious home-made fondants aux chocolats; what else!

We had lunch three times in January, sitting outside on the patio in the sunshine. The oysters were wonderful and, if anything, cheaper than in the supermarket so it was great value. In spite of being on the Etang, oysters are not available right now. Apparently, a virus is killing the young ones so oyster harvesting is banned. The only exception seems to be small producers who can serve them in their own restaurant as, for example, here. Pretty little town, great location, nice service.

Arrived at noon; ordered plat Arsellière. As expected, very fresh and oysters opened at the spot. Friendly waitress... Good local white wine. Honest price. No remarks except that credit cards are not accepted.
