We read about L'art Brut in Time Out. Though small in size it is large in ambiance and cheer. When we arrived at about 6 pm the place was packed, only 2 tables were available. When I asked the bartender if it was happy hour he said "we are always happy". We thought he was joking until we saw the regular menu. The prices were very much happy hour. A pint of premium beer was 5.5 euro while Stella Artois was 3.5 euro for a 33 cl. We ordered a charcuterie plate...it was large enough for at least 3 and was 7.5 euro. It was served with about 2/3 of a biguette and it was loaded with cheese, smoked meats and sausage. We sat near (very near) two tables of small groups. They were smiling, happy and willing to cope with our poor french and their english. L'art Brut was a great place to eat and drink. We will definitely return.
Such a cute little place in a very touristy area. A great surprise after seeing twenty parisian bistros, all cute, all the same. Friendly service, place gets crammed but it is better for it. Toilet is a little interesting, there only is one and it has wide gaps in the door, but you take it with a bit of humour and you're good to go. Could easily make this my regular joint in the 3rd arr.
I was there with a friend ...nice and cozy atmosphere ...the waiter was friendly and nice also speaking some Italian worlds.we took 2 beer each and a mixed board with ham and selection of cheese:amazing!!! Quieter cheap the bill!!We will back soon.the bathroom is so particular please if you have the occasion to be there go to the a look of the bathroom...small art opera .
