We have dined there as a couple, a family, and with friends and have enjoyed the food, the service and all the extra attention. The Latch instantly became our new favorite restaurant in the Greater Victoria area for special occasions from the moment we were seated at a wonderful table for the first time in their tastefully decorated dining room. The menu is authentic, the food always home made and well prepared with local ingredients that delight the palate. The meals are always simply and wonderfully flavourful. This beautiful five-room, one hundred-year-old log home is ideally located next to the marina and boasts a stunning dining room. The grounds and views are delightful, with recent updates to the bathrooms and mattresses by new owners in December 2016. Despite its cozy and clean atmosphere, the attention to detail seems to be lacking. Upon check-in, we were greeted by two young university students who were only there for a short time and lacked knowledge about the building. They did not perform basic tasks such as sweeping leaves and were unable to operate the fireplace. It had been several years since my last visit to this iconic restaurant in Sidney. Although there has been a recent change in ownership, the food and dining experience were wonderful. We chose from some of the specials that were offered for the evening. The cuisine is noticeably Italian with excellent flavours and produce from near by gardens. The atmosphere has not changed radically over the years and this venue still rates as a top notch dining experience in the greater Victoria area. The new staff were quick and eager to serve and very pleasant.

restaurant called The Loft. The ambiance was intimate and cozy, perfect for a special evening. We were greeted warmly by the staff and seated promptly. The menu had a good variety of options and we decided to try the chef's tasting menu. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The service was attentive and the staff made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience at The Latch and we will definitely be back. Sadly the previous owners - Luigi and Valeria - have gone. Gone too is the wonderful ambience, superb personalized/Italian cuisine, welcoming family atmosphere and everything that made this a unique dining experience over the past dozen or so years. New owners seem a little out of their depth...confused and unorganized. Food mediocre. Perhaps it will improve as time goes on, but the prices are up and there are other excellent alternatives in the Sidney area.

Our family based our decision to dine out at the Latch, based on the menu that they provided to us several weeks in advance of December 25th.6 days before our reservation on the 25th. the Latch changed the menu! Never even offered an apology.What business does that?So we cancelled and of course I had to cook . There wasn't enough time to dine elsewhere as all establishments were booked.

When visiting Sydney and you have a craving for authentic Italian cuisine than the restaurant at Latch Country Inn is for you. We were served family style with a huge variety of delicious dishes. One we recommend is asking for a plate of appetizers with speciality cheeses, cured meats and antipasto. Luigi and his family were very accommodating, friendly and warm. Great for celebrating!

We almost felt like family in this charming and intimate restaurant. The owners prepared and served a delightful gourmet meal made with fresh ingredients and personal warmth. As they also have their own garden, I can only imagine how amazing the food will be in July and August when they are harvesting their own tomatoes, zucchinis and herbs. Worth going back for! Dine elegantly by the seaside at this restaurant. Though a bit challenging to locate and with limited parking, the new owners provide a memorable experience. Dinner service can be slow, so be sure to make reservations. The food is generally satisfactory.

First visit to this restaurant with my wife on Valentines day and we had a great treat. Food was delicious and well presented. We will go back there again for my birthday next month.
