L'Atelier - Reservar una mesa

Walking the streets of Saint-Malo (beatiful town by the way) looking for a good restaurant we cam across this nice looking establishment. We went inside. It took a while before we were seated. The table seemed a bit small, but in the end we understood why it was big enough. There was one waitress and she did not have much time for us. The menu was on a kind of big board and it took us some time to decipher it all (and yes, I do speak French reasonably well). She suggested something that sounded quite nice, something with three different kinds of fish. But since she did not have the time to explain it correctly to us we got something we did not expect. We did not get three kinds of fish, it turned out we chose one kind out of three, the cod. We got two small pieces of cod, a lump of mashed potatoes and a spoonful of vegetables. We paid €22,- each for a dish that was not very special, even a bit too salty and nit very warm. The waitress could not handle the amount of guests so did not have the time to give us any attention. She took away our basket of bread before we had time to finish it and we saw her just adding some slices of bread and putting it on another table. And we finally understood why the tables were not too small, there was place enough for two small plates, some glasses and a basket of bread. If you ever consider eating at L'Atelier, just don't. Buy yourself some Princes (I did) and give the rest of your money to charity.

Nous nous réjouissions de revenir manger ici après 2 ans. Quelle déception!!!! Service pas aimable. Mal placé malgré une réservation sur place le matin même. Très peu en quantité ( 1 mini tranche de magret de canard de canard fumé dans l'entrée alors qu'il était annoncé sur la carte). Homard en entrée presque froid. Service beaucoup trop rapide ( entrées servies en 10 minutes et à peine 10 minutes d'attente entre l'entrée et le plat). Poisson du plat également trop cuit et environ 70 grammes par personnes. Ça ne vaut pas du tout le prix. 160 euros pour 2, sans dessert ni café. Nous ne sommes pas d'énormes mangeurs, et quand c'est succulent on sait apprécier, mais là , la crêpe ou glace en dessert n'pas du luxe. Dommage aussi car le pain était même pas frais! Même pas le plaisir de "saucer" ! Beaucoup de choses à revoir pour revenir au super niveau de 2015.

Nous avons testé le menu en février pour souvenir a 26 euros et la grande surprise c était bon bon et très bon, le chef a sublimé des produits simple, du goût et un très beau dressage. Nous y sommes retournés pour tester la carte, c est bon mais les prix sont un peu couteau, très bon souvenir de la tarte aux pommes. Je garderai un bon souvenir des dîners de février avec un très bon accueil du chef et de sa femme.

The food was really good and the ambience amazing ! It was very fine gastro food with small portion. Very well presented. I took a starter and a pudding . I loved it but I will have to say that it is a bit too expensive for the portions . A big eater will leave this place hungry or ... poor ! Lol ! It was nice anyway . As a romantic dinner , it would be perfect !

Super soirée délicieuseLa décoration du restaurant est super sympa et l'accueil aussi.La carte des vins est sympa, avec de très bons vins.Les plats sont délicieuxEn tout cas on y retournera.
