I'm an optimist, so I went with the positive reviews, and ignored the multiple reviews warning of terrible service. Mistake. The food was good, but the prices are quite high, and the service was indeed so unpleasant that it was quite stressful for my wife. The woman serving us was abrupt, cold, responded unhelpfully and even rudely to a request for advice about the menu. We felt that once she pegged us as American tourists (which of course didn't take long), she just wanted our money and as little interaction as possible. I liked that you can see the mountains from the esplanade. Unfortunately, I felt like the food was average at best. I was disappointed with the schnitzel which consisted of boneless thick slice of pork chop that was breaded (not home made breaded) and frozen fries on the side. The raquelete came pre-made all melted onto the plate with some pickles. A small green salad consisted of plain lettuce and a quarter of a boiled egg with Cesar dressing. All in all everything was very plain. I was charged a separate 8 euros for some boiled vegetables and the meal cost close to 70-80 euros. We wanted to have some authentic Swiss food, while in Interlaken.We were taken there by our local taxi driver...and I must complement Alex on great taste.A tastefully decorated restaurant whose woodwork and decor screamed....yodelled...Swiss, there were funny and cute ladybirds all over.The service was run by cheerful Swiss misses, quite flawlessly. The menu was quite extensive, and included a plethora of fondues, raclette (we were spoiled for choice). We had the house fondue, great tangy cheese, crusty bread cubes....yum!There was also veal, and we ordered the escalopes and the cordon blue versions. Visited as a party of 2 families with young children. Food was excellent - fondue and in particular the chocolate fondue which was to die for. What made it such a memorable visit was the fuss they made over the kids, felt tips, toys, chocolate ... the owner even let our kids play in her garden just across the way once we had finished our meal! Had a very nice meal in this Swiss typical local type restaurant. The food was good and the service was okay. The lady that ran the restaurant waited on us and she was not as happy as she had ever been but the service was not enthusiastic however the food was good and we were okay with it.

Hello, I just called to make a reservation for December 31, 2023, she replied ok and hung up on me, even if all the restaurants in the region are full, I prefer to dine at home than set foot in your restaurant! It lets you imagine the service... Better not to try Happy New Year anyway
