I recently learned about this restaurant thanks to glowing recommendations from friends and decided to make the journey from Kendall to try it for myself. I have to say, it exceeded all my expectations. Every dish I tried, including the griot, oxtail stew, pate kode, and legume, was cooked to perfection. My favorites were definitely the griot and the pate kode with fish. Despite the distance, the delicious food makes the trip worthwhile. I was also pleasantly surprised by how affordable the menu was. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, serves fantastic authentic Haitian cuisine, and the staff is very respectful. I can’t wait for my next visit!
I've been a fan of Haitian griot for years, and during my recent visit to Florida, my cousin recommended this restaurant. While the service was excellent, I was quite disappointed with the food. It was very dry and lacked the flavor I was hoping for. Neither my son nor I finished our meals. I gave the place three stars mainly because of the great service and the complimentary drink I received for the amount I spent. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the cremas tastes good when I finally open it!
Tonight's experience was not very pleasant. We ordered fried fish, but it was old and lacked flavor. I'm sorry to say that this isn't the kind of place where you can expect good food and service. However, there are other restaurants with excellent food and friendly service, which feels genuine without being pretentious. You should definitely try those; I think you'll really enjoy them.
Had the griot and legumes, everything was seasoned to perfection. Great presentation and variety of textures. Wonderful service, good vibes inside, homey and clean establishment. I've been dining at this restaurant for years, and my partner and I absolutely love their breakfast. We make it a point to go here for their Mayi Moulin and fish, which we plan to have tomorrow! We've never been disappointed. I recommend calling ahead to make sure they don’t sell out.
