On Thursday, November 9, 2023, I learned that this spot is known for some of the best donuts in the area, so I decided to check it out for myself. Unfortunately, I arrived around noon and found that most of the donuts were sold out, leaving only two Apple fritters. I ended up ordering one Apple fritter for $2.39 and three mini burgers with ketchup and onions for $6. The Apple fritter was just mediocre, and the mini burgers were quite disappointing and below average. They tasted plain, reminiscent of cafeteria food from high school, which is never a good sign. This place has apparently been around for a while, but I've just found it. Figured out very quickly that donuts go fast in the summer. The whole display case was empty by 10am. The server/order taker isn't very warm, but she's efficient. Would love to come here again and actually try the donuts I've heard so much about. It is a small space so you only get to sit inside if you're lucky and happen to be there when no one else is.
I've only gone to Donut Shack in Severna Park for donuts. I was craving a good Boston Cream and Donut Shack was sold out. I tried Laurel Tavern for the first time last week. Came a little late, around 11am, but luckily got their last Boston Cream. I was INSTANTLY shocked by how soft their donuts were. I have never had such soft donuts in my life. I absolutely love this restaurant, so I was really upset to hear that someone drove their car into it. I'm eagerly waiting for them to reopen so I can enjoy those fantastic burger sliders again! I've been a loyal customer for 10 years, and their slider recipe reminds me of the little tavern burgers from Wheaton, Maryland. It's a charming spot tucked away in downtown Laurel, and I will definitely always be a customer here.
Their donuts are the best in the DMV area—think Krispy Kreme, but even lighter. The burgers are fantastic, seasoned to perfection. They also offer my favorite breakfast sandwich, which has the ideal balance of sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. Service: Takeout Meal type: Breakfast.

The burgers where perfect. Just as they where made when I was growing up. Cost a lot more. That is to be expected now a days. But worth it. I will revisit each time I go to Laurel.
