We enjoyed a pierrade (duck and beef roasted on a hot stone surface, accompanied by a varied salad and cooked potatoes) and a fondue Savoyarde (cheese fondue with morilles mushrooms in which you dip pieces of bread, accompanied with the same varied salad and a selection of cold meat cuts). All ingredients were super fresh and tastefully presented. We closed off with a nice selection of desserts (L'inimitable café gourmand du 34) and a coffee. Although she was all by herself in the restaurant, the lady of the house took good care of the different tables, while the kitchen (downstairs) managed timing of dishes really well. A very pleasant experience in an enjoyable setting. We'll be back.
Have veen to a few other restaurants locally and was quite dissappointed.The Tripadvisor ranking made me worry about this restaurant as other higher ones were really quite bad.Nothing to worry about at all, food was great , really did great steak, good pierrad, fabuous deserts.Service was a little up and down, they seems busy chatting a lot , but it would not put me off.All in all this is the best one to try and having been badly let down by others this is the one that should be top.
I was hesitant when I saw this restaurant before as I feel a bit weird of the name lol. Anyway since there's not much restaurant at serre chevalier so we don't so much choices anyway.We are very happy with our food and service and even the place is very nice. The guy who served was nice and the price is not expensive too.We will probably comeback and can recommend this restaurant to our friends who are going to ski in serre chevalier.
We ate early with the kids and nothing was too much; we ordered a hot stone (pierrade) with beef, duck and chicken. HUGE portions with salad (although not sure about the raw chicken being placed with all the other raw meat and salad - not that we got ill from it but it might put some people off!) Lovely traditional French menu, good value, would go back.

We had to wait for over an hour for a very ordinary meal.The two waiters were relatively friendly, and to their excuse the place was full. But we did watch several tables, who arrived after us, get served and actually get their desert before we had got our main course.More staff needed in ski season!
A great meal when in Saint-Chaffrey. The staff were very friendly and the meals were a good size for hungry cyclists. twowheeltours will be back to eat there again when we pass through Saint-Chaffrey.
We went and had a family meal here. Waitress was not that friendly. Kids meals were good and chips were excellent. King prawns well over cooked in noodle dish.
If you are looking for a nice place with good design, good food, good prices in Chatemerle viallge, this is it. The best Fondue Bourguignonne but not only.

This is just a great place for a long lazy lunch and if you overindulge its not to far to ski to get back the down mountain..........
