I came here with my husband on a Wednesday evening as we were staying nearby and stumbled across this restaurant that seemed fairly busy in comparison with surrounding restaurants, and also because the town of Vallauris seems absolutely dead with most of the shops shut, nobody strolling the streets and not many other diners out. We ordered a pizza and a salade nicoise. The pizza was baked in a hot stone oven, so had a crunchy light base and it was good enough. The salad nicoise was not bad, but I expected it to be a lot better considering we are in the region. The tuna was not especially tasty, and the best bit about the salad was the olives. We finished with dessert, and I ordered a pear dish that was served with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce and my husband ordered the tarte tatin. I tried both dishes, and the pear dish below average because it was just a bad mix of ingredients, and fruits smothered in canned whipped cream is very unsophisticated to me, and the tarte tatin had an unusual presentation of whole apples on a piece of pastry. It was not bad, but not amazing. The service was lovely, with friendly waiters who took time to chat and interact with the diners. The value was so-so.
