Took a drive from La Rochelle to Ile de Re and we had difficulty finding a restaurant that was not full, probably due to school half-term holidays by the number of children out and about. We were very fortunate to stumble on this fabulous restaurant...and although we had not pre-booked, we were welcomed very warmly and shown to a little table overlooking the terrace. The sun was shining onto our table and the owner very kindly opened up a large umbrella on the terrace to shield us from the heat of the sun. The food at this restaurant is amazing! We stayed on Ile de re for 4 days and after eating here on the first day we had to go again before leaving! The food is the nicest we have had in France. Not only was the...food exceptional but so were the staff. My partner and I try our best to speak French but I admit this needs a lot of work before our next trip but the staff were fantastic communications with us in English as much as they could and explained every dish on the menu, so friendly and kind, out standing service! If you are anywhere on Ile de re you have to visit this restaurant!

We visited during the week with an early reservation as soon as the restaurant opened. It was quiet and we were treated well. The menu was translated for us into English and the service was attentive. As the restaurant started to fill up, the service...slowed a bit, however the food was delicious and the servers were friendly and tried their best to please. Again, top notch food and wine. The outside terrace is a perfect spot for dinner. A must in Ile de Re.

fantastic restaurant fascinated, Mediterranean atmosphere tasty eating loved my oktopus with fagioli bohnen, and all 6 of us had unforgettable eating. the employees are fabulous, very friendly, suitable to us in a busy night when they were a cook down, and then the waiters looked around our drinks / food needs even during rush around the serving of others. a strong revival.

we were recommended this beautiful little place by one of our favorite restaurants in paris and it was not disappointed. the food was breathtakingly beautiful, tasty and has not tasted any good. the service was perfectly friendly and knowledgeable. the vibe was bamboo screens and burning clientele.

First visit for a couple of years due to travel restrictions. Nothing much has changed. Charming service and delicious food. Glad to see the salt cod beignets still being served and the melon soup with smoked eel was fantastic. Lovely restaurant.

Every dish was delicious. Locally sourced ingredients and excellent cooking by the owner. Very accommodating for our large party with tasty but simple food options for the children also.

the best restaurant by far on the ile de re in la Couarde-sur-Mer. extraordinary eating and service under the line of ex four seasons cook and host. absolutely outstanding

Fabulous lunch. Service was excellent and so was the food. A delightful meal in a delightful setting. Highly recommend.
