We stopped in Beaune for 2 nights when heading from the north of France to the south. I researched a few Michelin rated restaurants but almost all of them were closed on Mondays. My partner had spotted lamb chops at a cafe in the old town but I insisted we come here. It has a 34 euro lunch menu which just seems a shame to not try given the restaurant has one Michelin star. Oh my goodness- everything was sublime. The menu is set, no choices but luck would have it lamb was for main. There was a green gazpacho which zinged with flavour, foie gras with a seafood broth, (the best foie gras dish I have had ever anywhere in the world) and tender tasty lamb for main. during our stage in beaune we were delighted to discover this restaurant whose michelin guide praises. We were absolutely not disappointed and we will return next year. the frame is very soothing with the beautiful shaded terrace and the garden in length that follows it. We were served with great kindness and know how to do by two young hotel owners. my husband great amateur of good wines enjoyed the very eclectic card. the dishes were delicious and we loved this Franco-Oriental blend with refined perfumes and at the same time of the terroir. splendid evening especially after a long stage by car and a thousand thanks to this chef and his team who have the taste to dare.
I had a sensational 34euro set lunch. There is no choice of dishes with this option. Every dish was excellent from 4 amuse bouche which included a Parmesan shell with truffle consommé and tomato and mustard ice cream cone. A green tomato gazpacho followed and then a stunning foie gras mousse in a lobster sauce. Lamb fillet with tiny potatoes and mushroom with cous cous was main course and a cassis mousse served on a biscuit with an assortment of berries and currants and toffee wafers was an excellent dessert. I would highly recommend this set lunch for food lovers trying to stick to a budget.
We ordered two months in advance for my mothers Bday,came to the restaurant on time, were ignored by the unresponsive staff, finally we were seated in a table. Now this may seem as an exaggeration but I witnessed it with my own eyes, still seems incredible, black flies, were flying up and down along the ceiling lamp above our table - very unhygienic and gross, we were ignored a bit more and then were given five English menus among the six diners and were asked to share. To top it off the room was scorching hot and they do not have an air condition or a fan. We excused ourselves and left

menu tasting and wines were a nice surprise. The Japanese leader has a lot of talent. Inventive cuisine quality products and the famous crust paste is a tuerie. to taste at all costs. only false note was the service to the cool or very familiar in any case unworthy of the chef's kitchen. a server that says high and strong not to love wine so unable to advise anything. The skit was becoming comic... it's still a bang! What a shame.

The foie gras was delicious and really well presented. The lobster was also surprisingly good, as well as the dessert. Leaving satisfied. Come ready for a not-typical French cuisine which, frankly, makes it better (Italian and American opinion).
Menu saver with beautiful French dishes from aki saito and fairly priced for a michelin star. matching wines excellent as you can expect for the region. Per glass very expensive.
