Le Bistrot Gourmand

Had booked a table with two friends and was well received. Ordered 4 day menus at 18 Euros per person. Got served a common starter which was meant for 1 person that we all 4 should share ?? Then we had ordered steak, which was an option under today's menu. Fine steaks, but when the bill came the steaks cost 25 Euro per piece. Today's menu cost 18 euros per envelope ??? The coffee comes in small cups the size of a finger, even though they claim it is cafe Latte ??? We ended up with a bill totaling 180.50 Euro. There was no possibility of a carafe with wine, but only whole bottles of rose ?? all in all it was a big cheat when we did not understand the language, wrapped in kindness on the part...

We just loved the setting for this restaurant beautiful courtyard, stunning view of The Château nice tables and chairs, ambient lighting and a pretty facade A very warm welcome from the owner made us feel relaxed and excited to eat here. The young waiters served us our aperitifs and all was well, Dinner was ordered and sadly it was not what we expected. My father ordered Duck which was served cold and a little tasteless myself and my sister ordered Salmon taggaleteli which was dry and bland and my husband the Thai wok chicken which was really bad Desert slightly better All in all a disappointing experience sadly won’t be going again unless they sharpen the cooking up maybe time for a new che...

Set in the most beautiful setting in the village square underneath the shadow of Chatrau Entrecasteaux, Le Bistrot is visually stunning. We had a warm and genuine welcome from the owner and couldn't fault the staff for their friendliness and attention to detail. Sadly this was all let down by pretty bland food; luke warm duck and stodgy salmon tagliatelle were both overpriced and disappointing as were the mediocre desserts. One can't help but feel that the owner should have gone into interior design at which she clearly excels. Beautiful setting but unfortunately wouldn't recommended if you're looking for a great dining experience in Provence.

We love the location and the warm greeting. Service for the first course was prompt and then we felt we waited for ever for our main course (an hour? . When our mains arrived we were deeply disappointed. My partner couldn't even guess what was in her pasta. Such a shame as numerous previous visits were good. We left before pudding even though we had paid for it as we couldn't bear the wait. There was a real feeling of too few staff and an inadequate kitchen.

We just LOVE Le Bistro Gourmand, mainly perhaps for the lovely lady who runs it Francoise. She has an unusual talent for making everyone feel welcome, feel at home. In fact, it feels like you're coming home to eat with a warm embrace. Love it!
